I’ve had my new to me 100 a few weeks now. I’ve had it on the lift most of that time, going through it bolt by bolt. Complete underbody Dry ice blast, rust converter and paint, timing belt replacement (along with everything that goes with that) heater hose Ts, serviced everything… the shocks were OE from 2001 and let me tell you they were a bear to remove.

Anyway, I want to recover the front leather seats. I’d appreciate any recommendations- I’m looking for the highest possible quality.

I've been mining posts on replacement leather to determine which company or companies are solid options. As you probably know, Google is a better search tool for 'Mud than 'Mud's search tool. That's where I found Richmond Leather. I've read a few reviews for other cars/trucks, but would love to from anyone here who's installed one of their kits on a 100.

I'm waiting for feedback from a few companies on details, e.g. airbag compatibility, console pad availability, etc.

Thread '100 series leather seat cover replacement'

Hello club members,

I am not new to the forum but this is my first time post. I am wondering how are your experience regarding the leather seat cover replacement on 100 series.

I had 1998 LC with perfect leather seats but it was totaled by an accident. I wasn’t smart enough to take the seats out. Now I just purchased a 1999 LX 470 with terrible leather.

I have tried the Richmond upholstery from Houston. The color is slightly off but the it fits really tight. I am wondering if any member tried anywhere else.

Depends on how bad they are. Usually an upholsterer can just replace the worn sections. Sometimes it makes financial sense to just replace them entirely.

I replaced the front row with Ridies a few years ago and I've been very happy with them.

I had the front seats in our LX reupholstered by a local fellow that does amazing work. Basically $1000 ea. Like new. So good I had him do the rear seat too. Super happy. Even smells new !

My 100 is currently at the upholstery shop - front and back seats, headrests, armrests, center console, and new carpet. I'll post pics when they're done.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but does anyone know an option to swap out the front seat for maybe the LX570? I basically need the heating and cooling function of the seat.
