Have any of you tried to recover / rebuild / repair the "leather" drivers seat on an 80 series? I have mine covered up with an Okole cover, but I am looking at acquiring a 97 and it seems that even the low mileage units have major leather damage.

I think OEM repair parts are hard to find and jawdroppingly expensive.

Can a nice aftermarket seat be installed?

The lower cushions are still available from Mr. Yota. You can get them from CDan relatively inexpensively. New lower cushions make it feel like a new seat

The best leather out there is Shane's (Aatlas1x) seat covers. They are by far the best out there that I have seen. They ain't cheap, but it'll have your interior looking like new in no time. Once you figure out the hog ring pliers, they aren't hard to install, just a little time consuming:meh: I had mine professionally installed cuz I'm lazy like that:flipoff2:

I have the grey 80 series seat covers, they look awesome. IIRC the seat cushions were about $60 a piece, and just the front leather from Shane is about $550, first and second row is about $750, or about $1000 ish for all 3 rows. Depends on how much you want to do and spend. He also does the arm rests and console covers if you want it all matching up.
