Given the state of rust on a lot of the cheaper ones . . . is it a good strategy to find a rust bucket body rig for -$4K+ cheaper than "nice" ($15K+) ones and swap to an Aluminum body? There is some work to do on those bodies still, right, besides painting the whole truck etc? I know the originals bring more $$, but if you plan to have for a long time, may be worth it? Or do the aluminum bodies just kill the rig's value?

I'd bet money that blue truck came from Central or South America. No heat. Probably drum brakes on all 4 corners. I'd pass.

The turn signals give it away too. And the top is the Colombian brand fake one.
But dont pass too fast, some Colombian imports have a lot of heat, non fake tops, driven by church lady on Sundays only.

I seriously do like the fj43's from there, do they have a bad rap or decent?

Can you find a FJ43 from Spain?
Nope, only Colombian market. One of my old peeps retired in Honduras (from Ft. Bragg, what a trip!) and he can find 40s, but 43s only in Colombia. He travels a lot down that way.

I like the body of the 43 vs 40, by just a very slight margin. May end up with a 40 near future anyway.

No idea how hard it would be to revive a flood truck, but here's a creative idea if you're a risk taker.

Oh mean gosh, many of us have bought non-runners, seems scary but might be a fun adventure. No top on this one though...

As an owner of a MWB, I'd have to say the extra length is all pluses with no big downside.
Better ride, more cargo area, a little extra cool factor.
Rear springs for a lift kit are a minor issue, but totally solvable.

When I worked for an insurance company we sent stuff that was totaled all the time to Copart, and if you watch the auctions a lot of the stuff wont sell the first time through and they will lower their price. But when you buy they charge a lot of fees.

Yikes it was like 5k when I first posted that...

Btw is there a way to see what things sold for on copart or do u just have to watch it?

$12k for a flood salvage? That makes me sick.

5K for a flood salvage is still 4.5K too high...
