Totally psyched this morning.

I called a guy on a compressor posted on craigslist. It is an older craftsman 220v compressor, twin stack. it runs 7.5 scfm at 90psi and powers up fine. He bought the house recently and just wanted it out of the garage....

ten dollars. he wanted to give it to me for free, but i just couldn't.....did i say $10.

Oh...while loading it I thought to ask if the guy had any dryers attached to the compressor lines. He didn't know what I meant but pointed to some "wierd contraption on the wall." Yes, I said those work well with the compressor...can I borrow a wrench. Score.....

so psyched...to have a designated, and amply powered compressor for wrenching. Moving around that portable unit was growing annoying.

How did I miss that?!? I've been combing craigslist for months looking for a compressor and welder. Nice find!

i think I just got lucky. I take breaks from my computer work by checking the tool section on craigslist, somewhat hypnotically and obsessively. I checked around 4pm and again at 4:30. I emailed right away. So....I was lucky.

Try craigshelper.com to search broadly for items. For example there is a nice Hobart 180 for sale in NH for about $450 right now. Talk the dude down then drive there....

Good luck.

envious I am............................

everybody around here prices there CL s*** ridiculously.

As far as CL goes...I have had luck posting on the want ads as well. If you are courteous with folks sometimes the prices come down a lot.
