How would one get more air flow? I've done just about everything I can think of. Vaccuum is good, timing is good, but the truck starts to fall apart above 4,500 RPM.

The TBI system I'm running is a non-electronic ignition type from Howell Engine Performance. I'm running a vaccuum assist HEI distributor with the Holley Throttle Body.

The guys at my local speed shop seem to think I need to convert to an inginition control TBI system. This dilema has pissed me off since I've been running the truck.

I would agree with your guys at the speed shop.

Start a new thread about this so we don't step all over Alex

Keep in mind that the TBI does not have inigition control, its vaccuum control.

I am unfamiliar with that particular arrangement, but it is possible that there is a mechanical problem with the distributor advance that the ECU doesn't know about, so it never shows up as a MIL event or a trouble code. Are all TBIs like that or is this special? I would seem to me that at a minimum the ECU needs to be able to control the spark timing and if it can't it should set an error code.

Do you have a tachometer on this or are you just guessing about the RPM? Maybe you are exceeding the rev limiter.

Is this a GM 350 we are talking about?

Hey I'm getting stepped on all over! Where do I get the OE distributor cap, etc.? I want the OE stuff not Carquest crap. Thank you Troll!
