Several months ago I started buying parts for my TBI setup on my SBC 350. One of those parts was the throttle body which I bought off of ebay. The ad said it was for a 87-95 Chevy Truck / Camero 5.7 350. Fast forward to today. I started tearing into my wiring harness and throttle body and noticed my throttle position sensor was different than others TPS sensors I had been looking at. My TPS looks like this and is oriented facing up with a different plug than my TBI wiring harness has which is off of a 88 chevy suburban:

My question is can I splice in a pig tail on my wiring harness that will fit my current TPS (pictured above) and move on or am I going to run into trouble? Is this TPS a newer version of other versions out there. Specifically like the one Cruiser Enthusier used on his TBI build. (link to his build)

Nick, That TPS was used on the '92-96 TPI LT1 engines, and the '91 and later TBI engines. Earlier TBI's had the other TPS.HTH:cheers:

So should I be able to just change my pigtail on my current wiring harness to fit the TPS sensor on my throttle body and move on? They both look like 3 wire sensors.

I would think making a pigtail would work. You just have to make sure the power, ground and signal wires are all correct. The worst it could do is not work. Give it a try and let us know.

I agree with Pat, let us know how it turns out !

I found the connector you need at AutoZone. (Duralast/Connector - Throttle Position Sens
Part Number: 417) or OEM Number: 12102748 for 15.99. You may find a better price but at least it is a starting point. Good luck

Thats awesome, thanks a bunch for doing all the leg work! I'll go get one tomorrow. Thanks again.
