I'd much rather have a 6.0 than the 4.7 in the 100 series. I own vehicles with both. I know Marks 4wd in Australia makes some nice conversion packages for the swap.

honestly I've seen all the conversion part they offer and by far the only piece I find useful is the tcase adapter which is still $$. But they are the only one at the time who makes it so oh well. If all plans go well I will be doing a newer GM 6.2L in a 100 this year for a mud member.

Are you all set to start this SAS now? 100 in possession? Looking forward to seeing the build.

still on the hunt for one. I want a pearl lx470. Also have two v8 conversions to wrap up. But I will be doing an sas soon whether it's mine or for someone else here soon.

I always used the motor/transmission/transfer case together if I could when I did swaps in jeeps. Used 150tunes.com to rework the harness and program the computer for an almost plug in swap. It was always cheaper than using adapters.

I looked at the second one (white LX470 in Gilbert). I think the head gasket is damaged because the coolant system is at high pressure when the engine is running. The radiator hoses are bulging.

Current owner said they had the radiator replaced because it was leaking....I noticed that the heater T's have been replaced too (shiny-new worm-type hose clamps) so i suspect they lost a "T", engine overheated and then blew the radiator. Fan clutch is also seized.

AHC is toast too. When I tested it from N to H, the LX did a little dance at each corner and then gave up and turned AHC off and flashed the "off" light.

Wow, sure doesn't sound "excellent" as the title suggests...

Any further development here? Has anyone been in contact with NitroGear to see what a custom axle shaft for the short side would run?

What about Dave at 4plus?

Hopefully this hasn't died on the vine like most of the other SAS posts in the past... Surprised there's been no action in this thread in two weeks...

@Rockjock82 - this project still on your radar or moving on to something else?

it's still on my list to do. I am wrapping up a 80 v8 swap and starting a ls2 80 complete make over. Soon as these are done I will be buying a 100 for sure! All it takes is time and money...

I was doing some measurements on my 81 vs the 100 the other day and I noticed even with the extra width of the 100 series front end, the overall
(approx.) width from the outer edge of the front tires was about 75" on both trucks. I think a lot of people forget that the 100 series wheels have an almost unusually high offset of +60mm that reduce the track width back to almost the same as the 80.

Finished yet?!

No... I've been too busy with v8 conversions and work at the hospital. Though it is on my to do list along with an LS repower for the 100 as well.

Started to collect the parts for the sas and LS repower.

80 series steering box
ARB front hp 8" 3rd member
6.0L motor and transmission

Next will be a custom Ruffstuff housing. Slowly getting there!
