I’m planning a small overnight trip through Stony Pass, Carson City, and back over Engineers Pass. We’ll leave early Thursday morning and come back Friday evening. It’s about 150 miles round-trip, mostly on dirt roads.

There are two choices for staying overnight:
  1. Camp along the way.
  2. Rent cabins near the halfway point.

We can decide on that later, but I’d like to know by the end of June so I can plan for camping gear if needed.

I made a map (link below). Most unrated trails in my opinion are a 2–4 difficulty, but could be harder if it rains.

Let me know here or send me a DM if you’re interested. I’ll keep a flexible list!

I like this plan!

Is everyone counting the days?

Did that - was behind you in the Black Hills with different low range than you and crept to you quickly.

Time for low gears.

Here is a fun fact. I’ve never driven my Cruiser up the wall. I’ve tried many times but it was too short to get the right traction, even with a ‘97” wheelbase. My nearly stock 4Runner would drive right up the wall, which is one reason why I extended my 40 to a 109” wheelbase. I would love to see @Broski ’s line. I may winch again this year. -1 hamburger

Here you go with water and mud thrown in just for fun

You should come show me in person.
Just pick a line. that's the only one I could find a video of 😂
Looking forward to meeting you !
We are arriving Aug 1 and staying to Aug. 9th

I still think this side is easier.. I prob wouldn't have spun at all if I was aired down ..

Yes, I walked right up that side ! I just cant find any pictures or video of it.

Very interesting, I would say that is NOT the easiest line. Actually I haven’t seen a mostly stock configuration 80 make it up there. The line on the far right that Richard took is generally more tolerable for 60’s and some 40’s. If it’s dry, he doesn’t really need a line and could pretty much close his eyes and go up wherever. Thanks for sharing

Speaking of Ouray Mountain Rescue,

What happened with the 80 Series they were going to raffle/auction off?
