As appealing as that sounds I have the whole Easter thing to do with the family. Trying to get to Mardi Crawl. You tried them tars yet?

Nope it's been sitting in the garage . Between piss poor weather and kitchen remodel and room addition not been able to do much .

hmmm, I like this idea. wish I'd seen it 2 weeks ago.

Just a "sight glass"? At first I thought it was a transfer tube to flow oil to the upper parts for some reason... but couldn't figure out how it would achieve the flow.

So Moab prep is starting, the list of mods to get both street-able and street legal is pretty short - I hope!!
  1. a new Transmission, mine has been screaming for a long time now - thx again Mathew!!
  2. Figure out how to get turn, tail and brake lights preferably in a single LED light.
  3. Tags and Insurance - cat converter is cut out (still have it) but truck is 25 yrs old so emissions shouldn't be an issue.
I do have a couple questions for the LED gurus out there. My current setup is a single Tail/Turn/Brake light in amber in the form of a 3 wire 9" LED strip but only tail and brake lights currently work. Yes I know amber needs to be swapped to red but that's easy. The goal is to make a 3 wire LED light function for all 3 actions without having to add a light to the rear of the truck.

So, The question is assuming I get new 3 wire RED LED lights can I get all 3 actions to work properly in a single unit? I've read a little but I'm no wiring genius by any stretch, I found this and hoping it will resolve the issue or is there another way?

All factory wiring is in tact. Reverse light is already wired to an independent LED light so not a factor.

I have no idea how to wire it but you can definitely get it to work. The tail lights on my trailer are 3 wire single assembly.

Sho Nuff white boy . Get a universal converter connector (just the box and wires) . What you want to do is wire it backwards . Meaning pretend the led's are the tow rig and the truck is the trailer . When I built my sons 40 I used red leds in the rear and had to do the same thing . Easy as pie .

backwards, Really? I went ahead and ordered the red tail lights yesterday and the converter box as well, found a $10 version seeing as all I needed was the box and wiring as you indicated.

this is what I ended up with:

Can't help myself, Josh took this video going up Little school bus and I dumped on YT. It's a great video. Listening to Michelle's reaction and John's (passenger) stupid laugh cracks me up.

That video is the exact spot that Henry about got his ticket punched on. Steve is standing on the rock he was next to.

Yeah it is and notice where Steve is standing too. If not for my superior driving skills he's probably have broken ribs too. :flipoff2:

Amazon still amazes me sometimes. I ordered the Light converter and new RED led lights on Friday, the converter showed up Sunday so I traced and hot wired it in that evening and the lights were waiting for me when I got home yesterday so I knocked out the install before the rain hit last night.

Also bought and installed a EP35 LED flasher relay from Autozone for $12 to replace the OEM relay located behind the left knee dash panel. Everything works exactly as it should now, first time I've had blinkers in probably 6-7 years.

I've decided rocks are a lot like water, they're gonna find the opening sooner or later. I'm getting a little tired of crunching my cab and I dont care to replace another... so, gonna fix that.

Sweet. I dig the plate work. what dies do you have? I've always thought dimple work was cool.

Fancy. Do you have a tube bender? If so, which one is it?

cheapy HB Pipe bender, John has the tube bender.

Not dimpled yet, jus' preppin. Nick and I just scored a 1" dimple die off the interwebs a couple weeks ago for doing this kind of stuff, more sizes to come. He has it and I've not even seen it yet but that'll change this weekend, I gots me ideas kickin around in the ole noggin right now.

It's a crap ton more work but think it'll look cool in the end.

I like the plate work Ted, looks really good, much cooler than just some tube in there.

there's one.

Given the location of the gusset I needed this to be stout so skipped the dimple and instead sleeved the inner holes for strength.
