I figure I have about 4" of up travel and 10 down as well, 2" seems very minimal but looks like that's about where I'll be.
Go ahead and stock up on bump stops. I went through three sets in two trips after getting my leaves to flex to their maximum potential. Might even consider air bumps cause they won't wear out when the axle pushes on them. My issue ended up being when one bump was utilized while that side was fully "stuffed". The bump stop was getting compressed at such a bad angle that the stresses were just as much lateral as vertical, so the material would get torn right off of its mount.

24" to frame (3 inches lower) and 7 inches longer. Driver's side leans about an inch as indicated by the shackle angle, I'm guessing due to a little less arch in springs so will have to correct later.

Triple cases nearly built minus 1 retaining ring, that thing is a bitch and I need a mac daddy set of retaining ring pliers.

Triple sticks ordered, went with RA Design and should be here in about 2 weeks!! Cant wait!! :smokin::smokin:

Looking good - excited to see how it performs. Do you plan to try and get the shackle angle more vertical and if so what's your plan given you can't move the hangers back without adding more bumper thickness? I

I'll gusset the hangers so that's no big deal. The passenger side angle is about right for what I'm looking to do which is to introduce a lot of droop (down travel) and maybe 3 +/- inches of up travel. This keeps it low and still keeps the tires on the ground - hopefully!!

Sight Tube done, Cases built, Tranny is ready for install and just got the tracking # for my triple sticks, should be here Wednesday!!!!!! :):):):):flipoff2:

Ima gett'n to be a happy camper but still gotta lot to do.

Triple sticks showed up today, only problem was it's missing 1 part so have to wait on that to show up. X-ing fingers it'll be this week.

A little Power steering tech, saving this one for later down the road.

Project 1 Ton 4Runner - Page 11 - OFN Forums

parts needed - Saginaw style pump just like the high priced units from PSC

Power steering pump/ Autozone part #6379= $78.10
Zoops Manuf. Pully from Summit/ SUM-340204= $35.95
#6 to 16mmx1.5 O-ring fitting from Summit/ RUS-648060= $7.69

Keep up the great work Ted, mine is awaiting a bleeding of the anti lock break system.

And finally got the Transmission and T cases all mounted.

That'll buff right out.

My gosh that is a lot of transfer cases. What is your final ratio going to be?

Yep, That's a long assembly.

yeah, it's long for sure.

Aint no way in he!! this thing is gonna make Chocco, might make GSMTR at this rate. Oh well, guess I get to play beer jockey!!

so I'm lousy at designing skid plates, always get hung up on getting around the front d-shaft. I'm about 1" from flat belly and could very easily keep cranking them up to get there but for some silly reason I have small balls and am scared.

Had some 3" square tubing laying around so put in a new cross member as the horse collar was cut away. The bottom of the new X member is flat to the bottom of the frame rails for reference

A new trans tunnel is required but that'll come after the skid plate and differentials. The output flange is just behind the back seat mounts. All that will have to be reworked to add back in the structure that i've cut away.

Initially getting this thing done by GSMTR was kinda joke back in November but now I'm kinda gett'n a little concerned.

The guys helped me on the T case mounts this weekend, I was stumped. Here's what we came up with, X-member under tranny, X member under rear output and a piece of square tube running parallel to the drive train, simple right!? NO! But, the major advantage is that the Skid plate will be an divorced from all of the T-case mounts so I'll be able to drop the skid w/o having to support the drive-line.

It's still developing but the plan is to mount to the front and rear case and let the middle case just float.

Used Autozone Part #FB329 for the T-case bushings. Need to order at least 2 more.

Wow Ted, I cant even see your driveshafts...

[QUOTE

Who needs drive shafts anyway?

Front shaft will be longer than the rear shaft, that will react harshly with the earths rotation.

took measurements last night and you're absolutely correct. The plan has always been to move front to back so I had the double cardan back there and back to front but neither are the even close to the right length. The front is pretty easy to shorten and the rear is gonna need about 10" of new receiver hitch tube added in.

Spent a couple hours tonight and last night trying to create skid plate mounts, this damn things is a jigsaw puzzle.

part of the skid plate. I'm actually about 1/2" from complete flat belly.
