I can't afford those either.
The prototype ones are re-installed already but they are not actuated or anything.

Is it odd that the newest car we have is an 85?
The newest one is a 2012 Rowland.
The lawn however is far from manicured, in fact it has a rusty cruiser body sitting upside down on one corner of it.If you look closely you can see my collection of golf balls that stray into the yard from the course, pretty sure they hate me over there...

It's a great neighborhood, one I actually was thinking of buying in until we got the chance at our house here. So the question now is, will we get a rundown of the final specs?! I am sure that is the least of your worries but would be nice to see the before and after photos with the list of specs in a single post.
Seriously what you have done is what I strive for in my cruiser that I will pick up one day. Not to mention having some wagongear items in there with a sticker on the window.
Congrats man, you definitely deserve some well earned beers after all that! And kudos to the little woman for being so supportive, I only hope that mine doesn't mind me taking over the garage for a while once I get my cruiser.

I don't even know if I could do that, basically absolutely everything has been changed, at least once.
The whole first two or three pages of my ROTW thread (linked in my sig) are basically that. I'll update that thread with a few pics from this project once it's mostly together, but to go through and catalogue every mod would take more pics than I have already posted and a lot more than one post.
It's still basically the same truck I speced out on the ROTW thread though.
Big time, and it's Women, not woman; at one point my wife, her sister and her friend from work were all in the garage working on stuff, I've got a cool photo of them all working on the sound damper on the bottom of the hood but I have instructions to not post such photos online since everyone has their frumpy work-in-the-shop clothes on.
Big help though, there were a couple of nights when her friend from work stayed over till 1 in the morning just to help out a bit. (she's single too btw.....
)She brought her folks by the other day to show them the truck she worked on.
Not at all, as long as there is effort there is nothing to spam!
Have not touched the truck again yet, really need to get caught up, spent the last few days welding up panels and getting orders together, still need to take pics of the work that was done last week to get her running and keep cranking on wrapping things up, but bills are going to be due so work first....

Ok, slowly getting caught back up, had time to get a few more things taken care of this weekend, and a chance to snap some more photos.
First up, a bit of back-tracking for all the work that was done in that last week when I had no time to post.
During bath-time I sealed up the tank with new stainless hardware on the fill tubes and sender unit and scrubbed everything clean before reinstalling.
The engine bay seemed to look like this forever, almost together, almost together, almost together.....
The data on this photo shows that it was taken at 2:44am.
Lots of wiring for such an electrically simple vehicle.
Absolutely everything under the dash was covered with foam, I also spent a lot of time cleaning up the wiring, I got rid off all the convoluted tubing and sleeved everything with plastic mesh, found replacement wrap around sleeving to match the old factory stuff over the big bundles, basically wasted a lot of time.
It was neat working on the dash with all the foam though, when you have your head in there is sounds like a sound chamber.
Also cleaned up all the wires under the hood, Erik set me up with an Aux fuse/relay box and a headlight control box, I of course had to waste a bunch of time making a custom mount for them though.

With the cleaned up suspension components the only thing I really changed was that I switched to a 4+ U bolt flip kit from Dave down in AZ, really great kit and I love the way it installed, really streamlined the bottom of the spring perches and the new components are much more sturdy, my old ones were pretty bent and wasted.
On the back as well:
I had a little bit of an odd-ball problem on the passenger side though since I have the cable locker mechanism in the way, had to extend the shock mount on that side to clear the controls.
With the factory mounts I had to switch that spring perch to a 62 since they are extended from the factory, I remembered that detail a bit too late though. ;p
And in place, you can see how it just moved the shock forward to clear the locker parts.
On the back as well:

Continuing under the truck, the bigger better spare fuel can mount and you can see the relocated fuel and brake lines to the drivers side frame rail.
(you can also see the ratchet strap exhaust hanger I "made" at 3 in the morning. It works great though!)
And the can mount from the back:
As mentioned before, finally had the opportunity to move the rear shackle hanger forward about an inch to help with the steep angle that OME springs leave the shackle at, ended up at a nice spot now.
It wasn't until I looked at this photo that I realized I really need to move that brake line or else the bump stop might just flatten it.
New fuel pump, lines and wiring:
Another little mod that I always do, I take the parking brake cup and mount it from underneath the truck with longer bolts, and then bolt the brake handle to those with some acorn nuts, it just makes it so much nicer to remove everything for service that way.
The locker controls are nice and smooth now.
Also made a new Hi-N-Lo shifter link, like a dufus I ordered male shanks rather than female, so this setup is temporary, but it works nice and took care of the rattley transfer shifter.
Since I don't really think it's worth it to polish the transfer (I know, I know, flame away) it looks pretty funny with all the new zinc coated hardware, I cant help but think of some gold encrusted reliquary whenever I see it, like some dirty skull with shinny gold embellishments.
I know I've seen something like it in National Geographic.
