Sliders are soon to come but in preparation I picked up the OZ USA rock light kit for install. I used an aluminum “L” piece cut in to 2” lengths and bent from 90deg to about 45deg. Used self tapping screws to mount the brackets to the frame and rand the wires inside the frame rails. Two lights on the rear and one under each door. More pics to come.

Oh, I wired to my Switch-Pros controller. Plans to wire into the factory courtesy lights at some point.

How bright are they?

Hey guys! I've been making replacement lighting for the LX/LC for about a year now. I just upgraded my kits to version 2 which allows them to activate with the doors as well as with an aux switch at anytime.

I'm wondering if my kits would be possible on a GX. Can someone post a photo of the the frame (as much of it as possible in one photo) and the factory connector?

It might be an easy adaptation. I've had nothing but positive feedback on the kits and have yet to have anyone have issues with the lights in about a year.

Let me hijack this a second - in your 2nd photo in this post you can see the factory tow or tie down point next to the light, the U shaped black loop. Can anyone definitely say if this is an acceptable recovery point (and there are 2 in the front that appear to be bolted to the frame, not sure about this back one)?? Thanks

Pretty bright. The switch-pros is nice because I can dim them.

The back one is bolt in and I would use a tow strap with it. As for the front they are welded on and intended for tie down on a flat bed. I would recommend Trail Tailor for front bolt on tow hooks.

So just to be clear, are you saying I should not use any of those points for winching, snatch strap, etc? Not that they are convenient as far as their shape/design, but just trying to understand if they can handle that kind of use or not. Thanks!

You can use the rear one (I believe there is only one) and I would NOT use the welded on loops in the front.

Great, thank you! They appear beefy, ie welded on, but I realize doesn't mean they can take that. I have a D-ring for the trailer hitch so I've used that in the rear, i'll check out options for the front.

Here is what I installed on my truck. Bolts are sold separately FYI.

Photos are from my install and I have since cut off the welded loops. Now it looks like the latest photo in this thread:

Quick question, did you have to move the radiator to get the longer bolt through? Was it necessary to put that one in opposite the lower one to get it in there?

@GonzoShinyPants I believe the instructions were provided in a link in that thread. I did the write-up and you have to un-bolt at least the bottom of the radiator and loosen the top so that you can swing it out of the way. You also need to drill the inside hole so that the bolt will go through so you have no choice but to swing the radiator out of the way. It's not too bad, I have done it twice.

Hey I hijacked the thread about the time you posted. Anyone send pics? I haven't removed the running boards so can't post a pic of the connector...
