maybe not easier but I am down time sensitive as the 80 is my only vehicle, would be a pain to pull my birfs put it back together minus birfs bring them to the shop repeat, I would like to have front manual hubs for a few reasons but I want to make sure the birf rides where it should, I am trying to find a way to get drop in hubs where the work is in the hub instead of the birf

Understood

Take a look at Warn hubs off a 40 they could offer the clearance needed

Has anyone tried the warn hubs on the 95 and later fzj80?

I have driven darwinks nadm 80, and obviously my 81, and I must say I prefer the 2wd version. I agree with all the points about drivability, lighter, faster, more manuverable, and MORE POWER! But this may be tainted by my driveline pre transfercase ie 1-HDT and H151.

a buddy of mine, has an hdj80 whith 2WD/4WD system...
some kit he ordered from australia.
seems to be very popular up-(down??)grade "downunder"...
is some sort of piece they put in the trasfer box, that doesn't allow the front trasmission to work...

he is very happy whith the fuel economy
and he would noway going back
also, has manuall AVM locking hubs
has no AWD option,
only 2WD or locked center diff 4WD....

was 4sp auto , now 5man...
