I'm thinking about running 2'' to 2.5'' spacers all around my 80. I was talking to someone adn they were saying to make sure that I won't have any problems with my limited slip? I didn't think I would have any but I figure better ask here then find out the hard way. I was told that if I flex it too much the limited slip would slip all the way out:???:

Will I have any problems like that?

Oh I'm also running on a stock suspension no OME.

I think someone is yanking your chain. There is no relation to a limited slip and suspension. However we never recommend spacers on a oem suspension. You are raising the truck, making it more unstable on a suspension that is already soft. You will get a lot of body roll and not very good handling. You will also have to address the caster.

Sounds more like the guy was warning him about his driveshafts slip joints. He or both are just using the wrong terminology. But as far as any suspension questions, you just got your response from the guy that would know.

Do you mean body lift, or wheel spacers?

2" spacers on stock springs would absolutely suck. Body roll would increase dramatically and the dreaded landcruiser lurch would become dangerous. IMO, do not do it. Get a 2 1/2" OLD MAN EMU suspension kit. Actually improves handling.
Cheers,
Sean

I think he meant the slipping from the transfer case. What is body roll? I've never had a truck with any sort of lift on it. What would I have to address with the caster?

--I think I'm going to go ahead and buy a front bumper instead of the spacer kit, unless I can run my 31x10.50 with an OME lift on it and have it drive well (I'm commuting from school back to home every weekend for extra job so my MT's are going to wear too quick).

Thanks for the inputs,
Nick

Unlike Jeeps, the driveshaft is bolted to the transfercase and the slip is in the shaft itself. Jeeps have a slip yoke on the rear of the transfer case. You can run 31" tires on stock suspsnion. You can even push running 33" however your mileage will go down and I would not recommend for someone just commuting and on a budget to upsize the tires, unless you need the extra clearance for off-road conditions.

Don't see a problem with running 31s and OME lift, other than it might look like you need bigger tires ;)
