Well, I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. I will hopefully get everything back together this weekend or the following week. I am having withdrawls and want to get out. Nothing too extreme. I'll have the new gears and think I'm supposed to be easy on them for a while. Maybe Coyote overnight or something? Just about anything in SD would be great; day run, overnight...

If anybody's interested, let me know. I just need to get out:crybaby::bounce::D (what can I say, I'm an emotional rollercoaster;))

a bit off topic but I was curious whether you set up the gears yourself or had somebody do it. If so how much, who did it, etc? Feel free to pm so as not to redirect the thread. Thanks Hijack Over

How far is the Coyote Canyon trail from Riverside?

Possible I can join up the 2nd week but only for a day run and if it is in the Anza B. area or Joshua Tree...

Just came back from cayote canyon over this weekend. Had a little trouble at the rough spot. Didn't air down. No lift. It was great! Buddy had a locked 80 with bald, stock michelins. made it through.

Aside from that, I don't think I'd mind going again.

No problem. I got the gears from Ringpinion.biz and Longfield (both vendors on Mud) and had them set up by ZUK Toyota Gear Installs for $400. I'll do another thread in the 80 tech section when I'm all done.

Sorry, I don't know how far it is from Riverside. Anybody??

I am out. I won't be in that area that weekend. I wish I could go though. Maybe next time.

Perfect! That will give me a week or so to be easy on the new gears. I say we call it a plan. I will definately be staying the night but anyone that is limited to a day run should come as well. There will definately be plenty of opportunities to do anything we want prior to heading up towards Sheep Canyon for the night.

Man I would love to make an overnighter at Sheep Canyon, but I just wouldn't be able to pull it off that weekend.

No worries. We still have plenty of weekends until it gets hot and I plan on getting out as much as possible. Just let me know.

Meeting time and place?

How about 9:30am March 8th at the gas station just north of the circle in Anza Berrago?

Scott is also a go for this run. Brent is a firm maybe.

This is a forsure GOOOO.

I am In for a day trip. what is coyote canyon like? I.E. hardcore, easy going, can I bring the babies?

Coyote is a pretty mellow run that we usually run last thing in the day because it leads to the Sheep canyon camping spot. It features a few water crossings (one of which I'm sure you've seen pics of) and a few climbs. The biggest of the climbs is pretty rocky but not that bad. I run it with open diffs (F,R open, center locked).

If we doTruckhaven, there will definately be some challenges and possibly some really tight mini canyons. Font's point is just a dirt road that leads to an absolutely amazing view.

I am a firm maybe never been out there but I have that weekend off...........
