Interesting. The rotors can not be any thicker or they won't fit in the standard GM caliper.

you could always get up really early in the AM, and head to the junkyards and if you are lucky there is a GM car that just showed up with the right calipers that still has the clearanced (read:used) pads in it... :) No joke, here in san diego, I rarely see brake pads in common american cars at the junkyard...

On a more serious note, I cant see how a thicker rotor would work either. As it is, with the common rotor, caliper and pad combo for rear GM discs there isnt a 1/16th of an inch clearance.

Not to bring this thread back from the dead however it is really the only solid one out of three that pop up when you SEARCH - Ruffstuff disc brackets so here is an update to what is mentioned above to hopefully help anyone searching for the same info I was yesterday

I spoke to Dan (ruffstuff) today and they hope to have the second prototype back and ready to put back on the site in two weeks......

I used a set on my mini truck and they worked great! no modifications needed, totaly bolt on.

I realize that we are a year removed from this post, however, if you are still out here, I would love to learn how you did this.

There is nothing on the outer flange of the mini-truck axle and the 07/80 and earlier 40 series rear axle that are in common.

That is great. I have been waiting for a set from Dan. Thanks for the update.

I'd guess he had used the similar minitruck bracket from RS.

BTW, I musta got one of the beta test sets from RS, cause I had to do some grinding and fitting on the bracket and pads to get everything together.

If the bend was moved closer to the housing, then the pads would not bump against the bend.
