Planned to change my rear suspension bushings. Bought a HF 20 ton hydraulic press. Well I got the bushing out but the jack plate cylinder is pressed into the panhard. LOL. It was the perfect size to press the bushing. I guess to perfect. I can't get the panhard off the jackplate.

I don't have the press secured to the floor. Tried beating with a 3lbs sledge.

Any suggestions?

A pic would help so at least we have something to laugh at. Blowtorch the panhard some?

Put some blocks between the panhard and the upper brace / hydraulic cylinder on the press. Get another 20t bottle jack underneath the assembly and press the piston back through.
Hoping that the panhard wasn't scored or damaged too badly to accept the new bushing.

Me too. I did't think the cylinder was the exact same size as the bushing. I'll give it shot.

and here's the mess I'm in.

I would extend the press with a smaller socket tight against th plate so the rod is secure. Then use the sledge and tap like your changing wheel bearing races. My guess is when your beating it the rod is moving and not actually transferring force on the it

What cjmoon said first. If that doesn't work, I'd drop the bottom plate out of the way and try a 3 jaw puller to try and push the rod out of the bushing bore.

I'll try both. Well, hopefully only one. Thanks

Yes sir! The puller did the trick. Took longer to assemble the puller than to get it off. Now I guess I need to start another thread about how to do this without f-ing up like this. LOL

Thanks everyone!

You know when I did that same job with the same press....I got that stuck the same way. Only pushed it in a little bit so I wiggled it out, no problem. Was just lining things up, checking it out and saw how close it was. Pulled the jack handle a few times....
Glad you got it squared away. Good jaw on the 3 jaw puller
