RPM Question

Ey folks, I have 07 lx470. It's in perfect condition but when I am at the traffic light the rpm is just above the 0. Is that normal? No shaking or vibration.

You should be running ~550/600 rpm. If its just above the zero, and running fine, you may have a bad gauge/connection.

If it were actually at zero, it would move like a steam locomotive getting started.

How do u read the rpm? 550?

Do u think it needs throttle cleaning?

I got the reading so it should be in middle between the 0-1!!

Ya mine isn't like that.
Rpm function correct no problem. What could cause that if it wasn't the gage or connection?

Get an OBD reader and see what the ECM is reading for RPM.

Isn't suppose to have the engine light on to check that?

No, you can read the signals from the ECM through the OBD port with a Bluetooth reader, scangauge, ultraguage, etc.

See the "X 1000 RPM" on the tach??...multiply everything by one thousand.

Throttle cleaning makes no difference here...that's got nothing to do with sensing engine rpm.

Correct-a-mundo. Mine idles around 600rpm when warm, higher from a cold start.

Cold start is normal. It's always high but on D and brake pressed is not ( around 200)

Will try the obd scan

Obd scan couldn't read crab in autozone. It's driving me crazy, tried to clean the IAC but couldn't find it. Cleaned throttle ( thu wasn't dirty) , replaced the air filter with no change.

Little bit about the car mods:
Has remote started installed in dealer
Has k40 jammer also installed professionally by the dealer.
Has iPod integration kit installed too.

I really don't know what to do next.
