With appologies to the Cable Guy, "I don't care who you are, that's some funny stuff right thar . . ." especially his write-up: "My friends [rover buddies] were surprised to see me walking down the trail and not driving." How can walking be a surprise in Rover world!

I'll have to admit, they did a great job of turning that truck back up.

I thought they also did a good job turning the Rover back over. I read the guy's little article and tried to recreate in my mind how it happened. I guess he got sideways in the trail with his rear pointed up the hill, then tried to back down and ended up going up the hill and over to driver... I would not have wanted to sleep on my side windows with snow coming down.

JP is right, we laughed about that a few years ago but it never gets old seeing it again.

Hopefully your 2-way radio buddy was on that trip JP. :grinpimp:

I think the group in the vid (Carolina Rover's Owners Club - CROC) is different from the Old North State Rovers. Either way - it would be good to get involved with them for maintenance. Are they doing any maintenance?

I will second the idea about a Rover/Land Cruiser get together. Since they are the other organized group that visits the "promised land," it would seem fitting to get together with them and perhaps do some trail maintainance. I still want to go back out to that field we crossed last time for the Friday night stay and put out some grass seed . . . .

Despite their sado-masichistic love of Rovers, they seem to be a squared away group. Would be nice to restore sino-anglo relations. Another article opportunity.

Nice recovery and write up. Joining up w/ the Rovers is exactly what I had in mind before when I posted up about Trail Maintenance up around them parts. I agree. We need a good liaison.

instead of trying to join up with the rover guys to do the maintance; not that it is a bad idea......... but why don't we just set a weekend to go up there and do a clean up day. In the past all these talks about getting together a game plan and how do we go about maintaining the whee haven't gotten any where. I think we should quit talking and strategizing and actually go up there and clean the place up.......... don't think the Forrest Service would mind a bit it we cleaned the place up some at least litter wise.

less talking more action :grinpimp:

Its a deal. So what do we need besides trash bags and grass seed and a weekend?

PREPOSTOROUS! In the real work we make lots of plans and figure out all kinds of scenarios of what we should do. Then it never works out correctly and we abandon the plan before completion. Dont bring your radical ideas in here, just pass physics and come to the real world, join the rest of the flock of sheep. :flipoff2:

I agree though just do it, ask forgiveness not permission. You dont need any Rovers up there they will probably just roll and youll end up spending all day flipping them back upright anyway.
