BeeaUtiful!!
Great work of functional innovations, Andrew! Your cruiser got better with each roll?

I didn't know what 'fiddlebrake' meant either until you answered someone - like a tracked vehicle that you drive by releasing both handles forward and turn by applying brake to one track or the other, left for left turn, right for right.

Really inspiring, no kidding.

Interesting you should mention that....

Sunday 2 Oct...

Steep climb - I didn't pay too much attention to the exit (which was VERY off-camber) as I didn't expect to get that far. But I did, and fell off the edge. Landed on roof. Pic is during the 'turn it the right way up' procedure.

Broke one plastic window and small hole in roof (gotta love the indestructible LC!).

I will start cleaning the inside more though, when it turned over I couldn't breathe for about 30 secs because of all the dust (off the floor) in the air inside the cab...

Also discovered I have a leaky clutch slave cyl. It's never leaked any fluid, but while upside down it drew in air.

Bled the clutch, pulled the sparks and emptied the oil out of the bores, restarted and drove away...

LOL! There, you see? What better way to test the integrity of your clutch hydraulics than a quick flip?

Stay safe.

Dooood, That jump across/into the mud hole is awesome ! That much mud reminds me of wheeling in Louisiana. Your sawzall expertise is unmatched, as is your Mcgyverisms. Sweeet rig. I think we need to start a poll as to who we would most like to wheel with on Ih8mud, You got my vote. (as a passenger in YOUR rig) LOL !

Excellent work!...I have a question, how work the light of "water in fuel filter"???...I need a warning light for water in fuel.

Thanks you!...

Ed.

man, i am so impressed with the beast you've created. truly inspiring to a guy like me who is still learning just the basics of mechanics and fab. good on ye!

Ed.

I used a standard Toyota diesel filter - there's a standard water sensor that screws in the bottom that operates the light.

Most of the small Japanese diesels have this type of sustem so a donor should be easy to find...

Nice Work....

Do you have a stove...fridge...and bed out in the shop?

Hi All:

Andrew, congrats on a awesome "ROTW" thread!

When you first posted I did not pay much if any attention to it. After reading it now I realize what I have missed all this time; that "Gertude" is one serious machine and you are an incredible Cruiserhead!

Thanks for sharing! 'Wheel on!!

Regards,

Alan

Andrew, what exactly did you not like about the MT-117s ? Do you remember the real world measurments for them (I assume 280/85R16 ?)
I'm pondering different options for upgrading my BJ40 tires and those silverstones look cheap and effective !

Yes 280/85 16.

Good allround tyre - only upgraded to go larger diameter and width.

Was happy with performance on all surfaces, excpet sand/loose gravel where it would dig holes unless extra care was taken.

WOW!! I cant believe how many things you have going on in there!!! That's impressive! Cool to see all the changes too!!
