Just read through your whole write up, nice build mate and informative too.

I know you've had the big sticker on your window for a while, ih8mud.com, would you know if it's still available, I have the small stickers and I'd like to get hold of a couple of the bigger ones:D

:cheers:Spudman

Hey man

The stickers should still be available. Somewhere on this site lol there used to be a section for that. Ask in the new forum section or maybe just google it. I'm on my phone at work right now :) otherwise I would.

Good to hear it was something simple... JK... Hope you get it figured out A.

"Simple" but let's see if it fixes the problem. Haha

Thanks mate

They only have the small ones in the merchandise section, I'd actually like a couple of those big ones like yours.

So I started rebuilding my stock carb tonight just for fun. I like working on this thing so much I don't mind doing it. Then I'll have a sense of satisfaction that I learned something new once I'm done. I know it seems crazy to y'all because I'm still planning on the 2FE, but that can't happen immediately anyway. The 60 is my only car, and I can't disable it for more than a night.

Carbs are fun. Everyone should rebuild one. Pinhead carb videos on YouTube, an old towel, screwdrivers, pliers, a 3/8" ratchet with 12mm & 14mm sockets is really all you need.

I didn't finish it yet, but I did disassemble it completely and dipped the lower portion where a majority of the linkages are. 15 minutes in the Chem Dip and I am pretty impressed. Will need more soak time later, but that is some good stuff. Using "Berrymans" like Pinhead uses.

My secondary diaphragm was just a little worn out:

^ I mean come on. Doesn't that look like fun?

...to be continued

Looks great, Kline! Post up more on your progress!

I've just got stuff soaking in the Chem Dip right now. Soaked the air horn and fuel bowl portions in there for about 1.25 hours. Still not as clean as I'd like them to be.

Soaking the lowest portion (whatever that is called) right now. Probably for two hours. It's dirty.

Need some parts too. My Keyster kit has failed me! Haha

Like I said above I got to work on the carb a little more.

Assembled the fuel bowl to the lower portion after assembling it and forgetting some brackets. Have the air horn sitting on there at the moment.

My Keyster kit had no o-rings for the carb venturi and no boot for the slow cut valve. Toyota no sell them no more. So I'm SOL on the slow cut valve boot. The o-rings I'm re-using. They look decent enough.

If anyone has a slow cut valve boot extra somewhere for an 84 2F carb let me know.

It's fun to re-assemble this thing. The linkages actually sorta make sense. I'll definitely need to look at some pictures to be sure it's correct, but I like it.

The plastic spacer between the fuel bowl and lower portion is sort of an odd piece. I just made sure the surfaces were clean and put a little synthetic oil on the sealing surface. I've read a similar method about the carb insulator. Figured it wouldn't hurt here.

Using the match trick:

Here you can see the o-rings on top of the venturi:

I somehow managed to get this retainer clip in using only a flathead screwdriver and my pinky finger. Didn't have any needle nose pliers :)

This Keyster gasket has to be put on before the float because the opening is only large enough for the base of the float arm and needle valve. Doesn't block anything. So it should be fine.

It looks like a carburetor again!

Not fully finished yet. Will get more progress in the days to come.

Geeze Ryan. Three minutes and you're on my case! Lol

I had to fix them. Should be good now.

So I got things finished up. Posting pictures of it just because everyone likes photos. And also to get confirmation it is correct.

I didn't clean up every single linkage, but it looks a lot better than it did before :)

Need to get payment to beno and order some vacuum line. For what I need boostcontroller is cheaper than McMaster. Gonna go that route. Black tubing.

I got some parts in today!

Vacuum line from boostcontroller.com and parts from beno!

Parts from beno:

- OEM front wipers
- Distributor cap o-ring
- Distributor shaft o-ring
- Carburetor top gasket for air cleaner

I put the wipers on before I got back in the apartment. Interesting the way they attach to the arm. Also slightly larger than my 17" parts store whatevers.

And the OEM air cleaner to carb gasket. It appears to actually attach to the air cleaner. My old one was just a thin ring of rubber haha. Placed on carb for mock up purposes.

Just waiting on a few more things.

Stay tuned!

@reevesci

The silicone hoses look and feel very nice. Test fit one on the carb "A+"
