Hey, I think I have a decent full-size air cleaner with a K&N element that you can have if you want it. I have to wonder how 383 cubic inches breath through that thing...:) Very nice though, I liked it when I saw it last spring at uglyoinker's place.

I now have a much bigger air cleaner on there now..
I'll post up what I got soon...

K&N huh???
I may take you up on that one.

I also added to the front bumper and rear as well. I need to take some dang photos...
Tomorrow....promise!

What is your setup for radiator, radiator fan, and fan shroud?

What is your setup for radiator, radiator fan, and fan shroud?

Im running an oem 60 radiator with a clutch fan and no shroud, as my fan is 1 inch to big!:hillbilly:
Engine sits up a bit, or more than most I should say, as I built forward off the h55f and ranger torque splitter, using the oem cross member for the tranny in the stock location. Lots of clearance between the front axel and oil pan.
It seems to work well and the engine runs cool too.

Post pic please showing radiator fan relative to radiator.

changes to the front bumper. Would that be a winch?

Nice 60

I have a 60 also, thought about selling it I even put up ads &. got a few calls on it. my hearts just not into letting her go. It need some attention so therefore I need a large surplus of cash. I want to put lockers under there but I'm not sure what to do OME, ARB, Dana, yadayadayada. Would you happen to know what axel is under the 86 FJ60 front and rear?? PS. I also live in AK, Wasilla

Are you looking for selectable lockers or what? The axles under em are 8.875" ring gear 30 splines I do believe (someone correct me if im just thinking via a 62).

I know how ya feel about the selling. I thought my transmission went out and my friends thought I was just gonna sell it. I told em "hell no" i've just put too much love and care into it. Plus I've grown up with this cruiser since i was born. Cruisers for life!

Heres a couple shots of the steering....a.k.a. (mini truck 1/2 hi steer!)The passenger side has a split arm coming off the knuckle. This gets my drag link above the leafsprings...however i still have my steering arm below the leafs....it works but i still rub occasionally!
Malin Histeer is my next purchase!

WOW.... thats to bad Jake....I mean, MARKW
I was gunna see if you wanted to trade straight across for that 67' 40 that growing trees through it.....straight across too!
How the suspension work when its sitting on the tie rod?

How the suspension work when its sitting on the tie rod?

it doesnt sit on the rod ...it does rub on ocassion in full flex or stuff situations.

on to new news....
I just got a hold of some 37 inch military tires with 95% tread left for 100 bucks a piece!!!!
Problem is they are on 16.5 rim size.:meh: i am now looking into some early chevy rims with 6 lug and 16.5 inch dia. the plan is to take my 35 BFG muds and put them on my 40 "KIMOSABI" and rock the 37's on TONTO. Still waiting to do the histeer. this will definitly provoke that move for me!

:lol:Excellent man, I want to see it! Have a build thread for it or are you keeping that project on the down low?

so the 37 inch tires didnt work out..they had 50% tread and I passed.
I did get a double cardon joint on my rear drive shaft. What a difference! It solved many vibration issues I was having.
I also replaced the Harmonic Balncer that had spun. Man, It was a wicked vibration at 2k - 3k rpms.
I am currently working on getting this winch on Tonto before cruise moab and also get a VORTEC in my friend Steves rig too.
Hers a few pics of the above projects.

I really like the design of that front bumper. The large upright in the center looks nice while the lower tubes provide some protection.

1.5" steel tube?
