What class V hitch did you get that fits on there? I need to get at least a IV one of these days. How much of a pain was it to wire up the brake controller?

the hitch is an Equalizer hitch and wiring a brake controller wasnt that hard, as it came with instructions .....
however, I just looked at the pictures and winged it!:hillbilly:

3/8" thick 5 x 5 angle.
1 1/2" tube
1/2" plate box for the winch

open for now, but will get boxed up this week with a few new looks too.
now that the winch is going in I have to clean it up a bit for cruise Moab....
 
That's a really nice setup, and thinking about it not too bad to fab up.
I hope you don't mind if I use it as a reference when I make up my front bumper.

Its funny I all I was gonna do was get the tie ins to the frame done last night and possibly mark out the cuts, but then I got on a roll and started cutting and welding.
I'll get some more done on it tomorrow, and hopefully have it all buttoned up over the weekend.
 
finished up installing the 8200 series winch.....
I love it!

I still cant believe that happened Mike....
I guess when you take it to 5,800 rpms the weakest link will always go....
I do need to upgrade to a better tougher harmonic balancer....there was a $200 difference when I replaced it.
I got the K&N installed after cleaning.... I love it. way more air flow now! Thanks again.

You're welcome. Come to think of it, I had to replace my balancer with the last overhaul. It was deteriorating in the same way yours did, although due to the nature of the 400 balancer, it would need to be that much tougher.
 
After replacing that balancer...I wish I would have put a tougher one in there.

The next time I rip it apart I will go with a higher performance balancer that can handle the higher RPM's
