hey everyone just looking for what everybody's thoughts are .

i have always had some problems with my e-brake cable being short .

lately i have had a drive shaft problem, anyways while i was dealing with it

I noticed my driveline motor tranny etc. wasn't square in the frame .

so while i was trying to square it i couldn't get it to move enough, e-brake cable

to short ,so i removed the backing plate thinking it was bolted on with a

square bolt pattern .it isn't ,anyways i rotated it quarter turn and all fits well

I now have some extra slack in my e-brake cable.

the only issue now is that i could only install 2 of the 4 bolts .

does this sound risky .i only use the e-brake when it is parked .

anyways i did it and I was just wondering what your guys thought about it are

P.S. i guess i must have been getting tired because i never looked if i could drill the extra holes in the backing plate.

I would try to drill the other holes. I would think there is a lot for force on the 2 bolts if they are the only thing holding your junk in place on a hill...

Or, get a longer parking cable...

Shawn

Definatly use 4 holes/bolts, option could be to mount a FJ55 backing plate rotated 180 degrees. Or better yet, "get a longer cable" John Pardi
