FJ55 P-brake backing plate on a 40?

I'm reinstalling some things on my resto-mod 40 and I just noticed that the parking brake backing plate that came on my bastardized '65 is really for a 55. Any reason I can't just mount it upside down on the 40 to maintain a driver side cable exit? It had probably been installed upside down for years and worked fine when I disassembled everything several years ago. I know that the adjusting cam will be on top now, but it looks like I can still get to it.

It already has a drivers side exit - problem is that your steering wheel is on the wrong side mate

Should be fine, can't see a problem with that.

Just the weep hole which is usually plugged anyway.
