Rooftop tents... what do you think??

Travel/camping has been elevated to a new level with the addition of the Maggiolina - I spend at least 25 days a month in a motel - this tent has me thinking of the savings sleeping outdoors. The tent will pay for itself in less than two months of use. It is just <that> comfortable to sleep in...

Mike - yes use any photo or quote you need - I have other photos - PM me if you like

Scott - I am considering the canvas cover as a possibility - but might build a drawer system and line-x it like the bed - I don't expect to keep anything loose in the back - Confucius say "that which is seen is half gone" ;)

Jeff - you are welcome!

Thanks again to Mike and Rich at www.autohomeus.com for setting me up!

Thanks Freight. Those are the shiznizle. As soon as i harvest the money tree, i'm getting one.

Good eye Jeff - I got it at Loews for 99 bucks - its all stainless steel with a heavy grill inside and a "U" shaped burner - covered with an angled piece of stainless to keep the burner holes clean. It compares very well to one I bought from West marine for 425.00. Go figure...
this was the first time we used it and it really works great - I have a hose connected to a 10# tank 'cause it burns through the propane...

Grill looks Great!
I think it's time to upgrade from my $20 Target portable :D

I am using a Conqueror rooftop tent and am very happy with it. I have used it in all types of weather... snow and 20 below 0.... rain on the west coast of Vancouver Island (rain forest).... bug infested North of BC... would recommend it.

love that trailer :D

Takes about 5 min to put up or take down. Remove the cover, fold the tent open like a suitcase, fold ladder down, attatch the fly and open the side window coverings.... Really quick and simple.

Super 70's unit looks very similar to the Eezi-Awn. One of the things that makes the Eezi-Awn very easy to store is the internal tension straps. They pull the sides in towards the middle as the unit is closing, preventing all of the loose material from spilling out.

My cover is also pretty slick, as it was a built in ratchet strap that pulls everything tight.

DD and I should be able to give a solid review of both units after our Baja trip. Over two weeks to Cabo and back on dirt roads...

Yup on the Baja testing- - - we are also headed for Surf n Turf 05 - and it will be a real wind and cold test

I will say that the Maggiolina performed excellent up in Flagstaff at 38 degrees :)

I have been driving sround now for a few weeks on back roads + trails + highway speeds 80+
I don't even feel the tent up there.
