My 100 came without them, but was wondering if it would look better (more adventurer:D) with them.

What's the consensus?

I've taken the factory roof rack every Land Cruiser I've owned. Currently have two 100s and a 200 and none of them have the factory rails, I don't like the "family station wagon" look, even if it can be a practical accessory! :)

I think they look better without the rack/rails. Nice and clean.

That said, I won't remove mine since I use it all the time.

I like how clean they look without them, but I'm forced to leave mine on for our camping cargo box.

I think it makes my rig look ugly. Do not like the color. Matching the color with your rig or wheels would look much better. My Prospeed rack is on the way! 😁

Definitely looks good... either way. Some trucks "need" them to complete a look. But the Land Cruiser's don't. I keep my rails/rack there for the annual Christmas haul... from .5 miles away. Also makes a good handle when standing on the sliders to wash the roof... Oh, and I do use the rack as the final step when I climb onto my house - much quicker than dragging the ladder out.

I like the clean look but need the crossbars for my cargo box and occasionally hauling lumber on the roof.

My truck did not come with the rack, but I wish it did (for practical camping reasons). If anyone that removed one is looking for a home for your parts, let me know.

I'm pulling mine off my 01' LX in a few weeks when my Gamaviti is delivered. They need some paint, but work fine. Don't know if there's a difference between LC and LX. You're welcome to them. I'll be pulling them off in the Destin/Hurlburt Field, FL.

Dude! Beauty in the eye of beholder. If you care about this sort of stuff, then you should be able to say whether you like your truck with or without them :P

From functional stand point, the factory rack isn't the most sturdy but it get's the job done. It is known to carry RTT, awning, ski box what have you!

the ultimate look is 33s, AHC in low, and slick top

looks like a huge Subaru Forester

Hmm. Another member in FL offered me a 2 leg rack from an 04. Does anyone know if an LX or 2 leg would fit my 2000? I’m a bit afraid of the shipping.

Fan of the slick top.

Thank you all for your great replies/pictures!

Yes 2 leg will fit all years. All year LC and pre 2003 LX had 3 legs on each rail which is generally a little less flexy. BTW our roofs have 4 attachment points on each side!
