CLIMAX WELDING 250-202-4644

might you have a picture of yous so if i did indeed ask for one to be welded by your guys, i'd know what to expect...:D

there is a thread on here about a rack that was custom made. the guy bought the gutter mounts off the web and made his own for fairly cheap. might be another option. all the ones I've looked at are a pretty penny. $$

On the Garvin Wilderness Rack, whats the proper deminsions for the full length roof rack on an FJ60?

I am here to tell you the Wilderness Racks are the toughest commercial racks made on the market today.....they can take bunches of weight.

I have one but it needs painted and a little work.....some guy was suppost to get it but I do not think he is.

I plan to cut this rack that I built for my old Sub width-wise to fit on my 6T. I'll be cutting off the risers and using the 6 Con-Ferr mounts that came with the 6T. It currently has a 'bike-tite' at each of the 4 leading and trailing corners that I hope to keep.

Whole goal of the rack was low profile. I have no need for rails on it. I also intended for it to act a bit like a "safari top" to help keep the interior cooler, so it will be set to ride as close to the roof as possible.

Have you thought about the aluminum 4 wheeler ramps? Low profile, light, cheap, and strong.

I am selling a wilderness rack. It is huge and heavy but I have had 320 lbs worth of people up there and a spare tire.

Have you looked at a Hannibal? Do you have a trust fund? I also really like the slee rack.

You never really mentioned what you're looking for in a rack. Do you want something with sides, are you going to throw a lot of weight up there, how often will you use it, etc. There are a lot of nice racks out there, all of which are well made. It just depends on your personal preferences which one you want on your rig. The Defender on Trapper's rig used to be mine. I hated it on mine, but it looks sweet on his. His wider 35's just balance it out better than my skinny 33's did. I'm in the process of doing one of the ATV loading ramp racks because I wanted something lighter and lower profile than the commercially available racks. For my money, if I were buying one as a do-over I'd get the African Outback. Check out the ATV Rack you do yourself though.

i want something that will look low profile, with 3" tall sides if any. i was looking at the ARB rack, and i really do like that one, and with everything including mounting hardware its around $900. i also want something i can put my spare tire on. and atleast 4 offroad lights, with little or no hassle on the install. maybe a little more weight than just the tire at times when i neet it

This is my home built for my RRT. Sorry the pix don't show it closer. The mounts came off a mudvender. I put 8 on it to make sure it wouldn't flex. Very inexpensive to make, I have less then $180 in it. Good luck. Oh, my criteria for the build was to carry the RTT and still fit in my standard garage...it took some measuring, but it all worked!

Good looking rack. So share how you put it together for so cheap. You can't buy an aluminum ATV ramp for that price.

The 1 1/2 tubing came from the scrap yard and purchased by the pound, approx. $20.00.

The four corner bends were done by a friend for free.

The design, cutting and welding was done by me.

It's painted with rattle can paint, approx. $20.00.

The RR clamps were the biggest expense due to their HD construction. There very similar to the confer clamps. I'm sorry, but I can't seem to find the vender on mud that sold them to me.....I paid approx. $140.00 for the clamps. They came out of Colorado.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!
