Just grabbed the last 43Q

I thought you already had one or are you downsizing?

Persistence paid off just now. The 63Q came online and I snagged it. I had been checking at least once everyday for who knows how long. I really didn't need to spend that money but who knows when another would have been available.

It's a good buy at those prices. I've personally gotten my money's worth in the last year or so. "Coolest" car accessory there is!

dam Phil are you collecting these now?!

Just helping others out ;)

I will note of the 5 I purchased everyone has been very happy and no problems
Any of them need any of the wiring modifications that some people talk about?

What kind of wiring modifications? I haven't had any issues running mine on the standard 12v in the rear of my Ford. (Other than the crappy cigarette plug that falls out half the time). I tried the blue sea locking plug & outlet in my 100 and it crapped out pretty quick too. For long term use in my 100, I hard wired it into the 12v power with 6 gauge wire.

If your OEM 12v outlets don't stay on full time (and you want the fridge to run when the car is off), you'll need to jump power at the fuse or relay for the 12v outlets.

On the fridge side, you may want to pop the panel and make sure all the wires are fairly tight where they plug into the master assembly or whatever it is. Some have noticed they are very loose from the factory.

I was talking about the loose wiring that you mentioned.

Received my 63Q today. Just turned it on the test it out.

No scratches but it has two dents. Well worth the $292 price with next day shipping.

Not a bad dent from some that I've seen! Time to slap some good handles on it and go adventure with some cold beverages and food.
The handles don't seem bad. I think it will be permanently mounted in the 80 so I'm not terribly worried about them. I guess the new project is figuring out a way to secure it and power it.

Post up how you mount it. I think I've seen some bolt down the bottom. The handles are no good to tie down to long term or for off-roading, IMO. I went with a plate mount behind the handles and metal handles since I move mine out of the car when I camp (very heavy with food and slide base attached).

Geez Phil what tool are you using to watch all the links?!?!

I just save the links for all three sizes on the favorites on the top of the browser. Click everytime I use the computer. Unless you have the actually link it won't show up when searching openboxdirect for some reason. Maybe it's just me.

Best is to subscribe to this thread. I bought two checking the links every 30-60 minutes at night until they popped up.
I tried the RSS feeds, but didn't work. I felt like a psycopath searching for one, but eventually worked out and saved hundreds.

My compressor rattles a bit when I hit bumps. The mounting bolts are all tight but something inside the compressor (the black metal ball-looking thing behind the removable side panel) bounces. Anybody else have this issue?

Mine makes same noise, but not too bad. What you are hearing is the compressor banging on the side of the case. It probably sits on a few springs and is allowed to float within the case, for whatever reason.
