For using these as infeed/outfeed, can you get away with the horror freight cheapos, or does $ really make a difference? Not going to have anything too heavy run across them, but I want them to be relatively sturdy.

When you shop, check that the rollers are round, not egg-shaped or bored off-center. Cheap ones usually wobble, both at the legs and the head, you might be able to fix that. The most annoying thing would be if the height adjustment doesn't hold, most of the wobble is fixed by the table itself as the roller is just taking the weight.

I have some nice ones. They don't seem much better than the HF ones I've seen in the store, little beefier but that's about it.

If I were buying some (these were handed down to me), I wouldn't spend a significant amount of money on them.

I use these for infeed and outfeed of large sheets of ply/MDF on my tablesaw and they work great; as well as other uses like supporting longer pieces of steel at the horizontal bandsaw (fabbed a "T" riser from 3/4"x3/4" square tube that gets swapped into the support stand base for this purpose).

I've found, for the tablesaw feed application, roller stands want to "steer" the sheets...YMMV.

Went to the dreaded harbor freight and picked up a roller stand. If it's decent maybe I'll go back and grab another. Thanks.

My FIL bought a couple at Woodworkers Wharehouse some years back. He does alot of planing and they're still kicking for being chinese.

HF ended up having them on sale. Got 3 for a total of about $23. What I really need though is more space yikes.
