the valley, yeah that one
anyone got a line on a roll-out awning that attaches to the sides of conversion vans/etc?

We had an old one from a 1960s camper, but it's finally bit the dust.

I've looked at some of the home-made versions, but I'd like the ease of having one already made. RV units always seem too big both in width as well as depth.

nice. pricey, but exactly what I'm after...

Does anyone have the link to the homemade one? They used PVC and a tarp but it rolled up in a small package. It could be what you are looking for.

I have the awning from Slee and it is a pretty good size. I will have to measure when I get home.

thanks mick, any idea on a US distributor?

x2 on the home made jobber.

No idea sorry for a distributor for the Gunyah awnings.

AFAIK ARB does a roll out awning over here too. They might be worth a try.

This awning cost about 95 dollars and comes in a bag like a small tent. It takes about 15 minutes to set up.

There is a bar with 3 tabs with holes in them. I used longer bolts on the load bars and added a extra nut to each bar. When I use the awning I un due the 3 extra nuts mount the bar then put the nuts back on.

cpg,

can you give us a link to this thing? If you have pics of the unit from under it, that'd give us a good idea of the structure. When the unit is put away, is there a bar that stays with the rack?

Nice find!

I will dig thru receipts and find out where it came from. Some Vanagon site. It was under 100 dollars. The bar can stay up the but after a trip i take it off. It stores in a bag the size of a 3 man tent (pretty small).

nice luke111.
