very nice indeed

(nice tools too, are those locked down somehow?)

Thanks! The tools are just held on by Quick Fists..if I'm in a situation I'd have to worry...I'll lock them inside

Very nice indeed. Doesn't look much like the military trailer you started with. How is the weight balance now that it is equipped?

Thank you! The balance isn't quite determined yet because the battiries and water tank aren't in yet....that will be towards the end of this week coming up:cheers:
Very well thought out and executed, Nice work!

Thanks Brian for the kind words  As usual taking 3 times longer than I thought...lol

Systems...underway..

Started the water tank/ battery enclosure/ pump palace/ for the front area. The batteries need to be removed for the winter, as well as the pump...all other connections are "quick connect to save time for set up purposes.

Looks pretty comfortable. Nice to have everything in one unit. Hook it up and go. I think half the satisfaction comes when someone walks by and tells you how cool that looks and asks where you got it. You get to say , I made it, with a huge smile.

Pat,
Looks like a great shakedown cruise.

Gotta love the payoff! Nice work.

Thank you all very much!!!!

Just a small list of issues;

The stove doesn't work, I think it has something to do with the internal regulator, but I'm sure I can get parts. Fell back on the ol' Coleman. Portable grille also kicked major ass

Need to finalize the 110v side of power supply, although the new
Honda ie2000 was flawless

Need just a bit more organization in the tubs, but that'll come in time

The tent annex is too short, coz the ROAM is too high, so I'll redo the skirt over the winter. The door also has to be dropped.

A special thanks to my nephew John that was a huge help, especially during the last few days. Made his bed up out of plywood inside the trailer, and coupled with the air mattress it worked great...was warm and super comfortable.

Definte highlight of the trip was when I pulled in to register, the two guys were down by the lake. I walked up and asked for the caretaker, the other fellow with him looked up and pointed over my shoulder and said " the boat docks are over there..."

Of course I smugly replied "she don't float...

yet....! "

Thanks again

Was trying to get one more in before the snow flew...but doesn't look good..:frown:

It'll just give me more time to work on a few goodies..

Pat,
as always your work is Epic Win. I am now re-hooked on this forum as a result. And my trailer build. hah.

Thanks Mr. P...glad to see your able to get "bit" again!!:grinpimp:

Yea...this one was a major PITA...and still has some growing pains, but the heavier military frame is far more suited for this beast, than the last build, and the brake axle tied it all together. There are more on board amenities also, which will see just a few improvements come spring.

Much to the :princess: 's shagrin...I doubt this will be the last....I really have my sights set on a "flip open" model and a full "pullout" model...so let's see what the year brings.....

Which I admit, I am very anxious for!!

Pat

great job pat!

how did it travel?

Thanks toys...towed great, although the maiden voyage wasn't very far, it felt rock solid. It was great peace of mind to have a brake axle. I installed the Airlift 1000's in the rear coils of the 4Runner...and that made a tremendous difference in sag and sway with the 300lbs. of tongue weight.

I ordered some Fleabay used E range tires to get me out of the backyard, but I'll be putting on some E range Revo II's come spring...that way they'll match the 4Runner too.

First trip I'm thinking about heading upstate trout fishing in the Roscoe/Liberty area...and leave the ROAM at a campground....although I'm trying to find a more private, secluded area, but still central to the good fishing. I may wave that for some PA fishing at some of my old stomping grounds (Big Pine, Little Pine,) but they always seem about a week or two behind us in the water temp department.

I have some floodlights to add on the exterior, some 12v outlets, extra LEDS, fix the annex heighth issue, and get some paneling on the inside. That will probably commence around the middle of March.

Wow dude,

I avoided this thread thinking it was Romer building and tweeking his new camper... man was I pleasently suprised. I kept thinking how can Ken make 9 pages of mods to that thing? ;)

Great job, I look forward to your interior build.
