I got it from Koffer out of a relativly new pop up he bought that was wrecked. He refers to it as "the Donor Trailer"...lol. He's using stuff out of it for his build as well.

Very nice build, how many people are you planning on sleeping and feeding with that baby?

I'm glad someone got it...

I could sleep two adults in the RTT and two adults down below (or maybe 3-4 kids...depending on how high you stack em'.:p

The plan for the inside to have a piano hinged "couch" that folds down into a sleeping platform, and I actually just found a nice blowup matress at Sears for 1/2 price that will fit it perfect. At some point I would prefer the couch cushions also make the bed matress, but the air one will get thru a few trips hopefully before the snow flies.

The folding tv mount came today, so I'm hopefull that will swing just enough so we can play movies in the window

It may not be very "trailworthy"..but it sure as hell will have some nice touches!

Thanks for following along...hope your enjoying it:cheers:

I certainly am, and I can appreciate your battle with the "devil in the details" you had me when I saw your stud/frame work, at least with metal you can fix it if you cut it too short, or clamp it dead on and fill the gap. Wood is unforgiving in that respect, and I prolly would have had bon-fire at the end of your frame up with my short boards (or lowered the roof a few times untill I got it right:rolleyes:)

Get camping in it as soon as you can (before it is perfect/finished) it will change the way you feel about working on it, and will firm up the final details before you put time into fabing them.

Good luck buddy, thanks for sharing your valuable build time with the rest of us:cheers:.

Overspray is NOT our friend!!

That's right boys and girls.....check back in a little bit to see the Silver Bullet

Pat,
Wow! Looks great!

Do you have to prime the FRP or just use silver over the raw FRP? I've only seen the FRP with a slick finish and have no experience with painting it. Being able top pick some color other than gloss white makes it a more appealing material to work with.

Mike,

I used a Rustoleum Plastic Primer...believe it not I did the whole thing with one spray can

I did sand it with 80 grit on the random orbital, then wiped it down with thinners.

The top coat is also Rustoleum Silver...matches the 4runner close enough!

Of course at this stage, any silver would work....
