Look at post #1. I used a metal disc which I added double sided gorilla tape (the grill on the dash is not strong enough for magnets) On this disc I have a suction cup mount which I bough on Amazon to gain a bit more downward angle. Since I have added double sided tape to the part that contacts the dash to eliminate bouncing and have a solid feel when pressing on the screen. That last detail made a world of difference.

I have to remove it tomorrow because I am getting my windshield replaced, I'll take the latest pictures...

Wow! Good to see this thread is still alive. Was checking back to see if anyone had done anything new with RT or similar. I am happy to report 6 months later my RT set up still works well. My only issue is sometimes when I get back in my car the audio plays through RT only. But I hit pause / play and it switches back. I have been considering the Naviplus install, but not sure I want to go through all that.

I installed the Naviplus unit myself, and it really isn't too hard to do. Just have to take your time and be methodical. I have actually been considering the RT though anyway so that I could have the Carplay screen AND my OEM screen controls up at the same time.

Can anyone confirm if the Siri navigation voice volume can be independently saved separate from. The overall music volume.

Has anyone figured out where or what fuse to wire the Road Top to so that it stays on when ACC mode? I have mine wired to my fuse block which turns on when in the initial ACC mode (pushing Engine Start twice), but I also want it to stay on when putting the LC in neutral and pushing Engine start (that way only the OEM head unit is on).

I can say I like having the Carplay above the OEM screen and having the OEM always in view. Love the rig! I have same one, same year.

I somehow missed this entire niche of auto tech.
Put a non road top generic in my gen 1 Lx on Thursday to try it out.
Prices have come down a lot in this space.
5 hour road-trip and it’s working fine. I have a separate Bluetooth source (WiiM mini) fronting my DSP, so every start I have to choose that BT target for the music app, the other audio runs thru the CarPlay portable speakers. My main use case is just to have basic CarPlay functionality to make the nav music and text more manageable for my teen.

Will be putting on an arm and hardwiring it soon. Currently double side taped to the vinyl on the gamiviti mount.

This one, it is available from many sellers. I picked this one as ‘Amazon’ was the seller and it shipped overnight. That privilege cost me $5 to $15 more.

I wish it had an external microphone, but the cheapest I saw with that feature in This form factor was $50 more. Now that I’ve got 10 hours with it I think it would be worth it for the microphone.
