Edit: typos

Got it...I'll see if I can figure that out.

I've got everything up and running...my only issue so far is that the RT isn't connecting via Bluetooth to the LC head unit automatically when I start the vehicle...I have to click 'Audio>Connect' in the OEM menu. Small thing, but hopefully I can get it to start connecting automatically.

I don’t use that feature All audio comes from my phone to the Land Cruiser

Are you still able to play via CarPlay that way?
Yes. If music plays through the RT just pause and play with Land Cruiser buttons and it will play through LC. I shared lots of details in this early on this thread and I’ve been using it like this since

How is everyone mounting this? I have it mounted on the center screen with Gorilla double sided tape but it is too heavy to stay secured down. I thought about drilling holes and using bolts and nuts, but I’d prefer an option not as invasive. I also tried the windshield, but same thing.

Look at post #1. I used a metal disc which I added double sided gorilla tape (the grill on the dash is not strong enough for magnets) On this disc I have a suction cup mount which I bough on Amazon to gain a bit more downward angle. Since I have added double sided tape to the part that contacts the dash to eliminate bouncing and have a solid feel when pressing on the screen. That last detail made a world of difference.

I have to remove it tomorrow because I am getting my windshield replaced, I'll take the latest pictures...

Any idea what metal disc you used? If I can get mine to mount and get it to connect each time I enter the LC this thing would be perfect!

Here is the one with double sided tape which completely cements the unit

So I went a different route to mount mine. I put double sided tape directly on the suction cup and put it on the dash screen. Then I threaded some thread through the holes of the screen to prevent the mount from lifting due to the weight of the screen. I’ll see how it holds up. If the thread doesn’t work then some high weight fishing line would work. You also can’t see it while sitting in the front seats.

Here is the latest firmware, 1.0.15. I emailed RoadTop on Friday and they sent me the firmware 1 hour after.

As always, use it at your own risk!

Thanks. Did they say what the updates are? Mine works great…I just can’t get it to connect to my car automatically. I just have to hit ‘Connect’ under the BT option on my LC head unit. Other than that I haven’t had any issues.

How is everyone wiring these in? Cutting off the cig lighter adaptor?
Yes, cut the end off and you will have a positive and negative wire. I ran mine to a fuseblock I installed in the DS kick panel.

Thanks. Wasn’t sure if maybe people were getting new cords off Amazon so that they could keep the original in case they want to move it to another vehicle. I wish it was powered via USB

Hey guys, I found this thread from a review on Amazon. I'm currently using a similar but older Carplay tablet by Carlinkit (Carlinkit Carplay Dashboard Console 2.0), but the firmware hasn't been updated since early 2021.

I have a question for you guys that are using this Road Top tablet and connecting via Aux and not using the car's BT for volume. My 2012 Honda Pilot does not have BT some I'll be using Aux for audio.

Can you guys confirm if the unit is able to adjust the Siri driving directions volume independently from the main music audio volume?

Apparently since iOS15, the Siri "driving directions" volume can no longer be adjusted on the iPhone via settings. You have to adjust the navigation volume from the car's volume control while Siri is speaking. However, on my carlinkit device, all this does is raise the overall volume, so I still cannot hear the Siri voice even though the music is faded or even paused. Siri is whisper quiet unless I raise the volume all the way to 40, but then once Siri is done speaking, the music is WAY TOO LOUD.

Hoping you guys can confirm this unit is able to separate navigation volume from overall music volume. If so, I'm sold and I'll be replacing my Carlinkit tablet with the Road Top tablet.
