When?
February 12-15, 2010

Answers to all of your questions can be found here:
Rocky Mountain Landcruiser Association (RMLCA) River Shiver 2010

Where?
Just outside of Calgary Alberta (Canada eh?)

Some pictures of previous years;
River Shiver 2005
River Shiver 2006
River Shiver 2007
River Shiver 2008
Winter Run 2009

Yes non-LC's are allowed to come. In fact, the truck that spanked most of the other trucks and trails was a Toyota p/u running chains.

Early bird price is $225 Cdn which gets you 9 meals, 3 nights accommodation, and 2 days of winter wheeling. You won't find a better deal than that in this economy, or any other economy.

The only TLCA sanctioned event North of the border!

An awesome time!!!

Sugar Coated

Liked the "Californian" chat thread. You forgot to tell them about our "Canadian Beaver." That out to give the Southern States something to talk about :D

From a land where we don't sugarcoat everything...

Wait...maybe we do. Don't we sugarcoat those Canadian Beavertails?

Are there going to be hot wings again? Ring of fire + Unheated outhouse = Unhappy memories.

I have to get the rear locker working in my 80.

Wow, ring of fire and rear locker in the same post. If the shat crowd get a whiff (no pun intended) of this, the thread will go downhill fast.

I think shaker would be better off putting a roof and doors on than a cooling fan. I'm not sure if a 3B would heat up if it's really cold out.

I have a lot longer laundry list to finish before river shiver. Somthing about a break line, a PS pump and shocks.

Shouldn't you be putting a transmission in you BJ-74?

Shouldn't you be putting a fan in your BJ42?

You guys are real funny. How 'bout putting together a whole truck? Oh...wait...I have 757 hours left til ACT2010 not RS2010.

I agree, we are funny, but we have all offered to help you with your task, and you have yet to call on us.

You get to drive your 45 at River Shiver. I will be in the kitchen the whole time if I don't get my Cruiser running by then.

Yup, I know. I was saving the Jim's lifetime of favours for when I really need them on stuff I have no idea how to do or for when I need to get a bunch of stuff done. I appreciate the offers, just not ready yet.

P.S. By hook or by crook, I'm sure we can find time for a Kevin's lifetime of favours to get your truck running.

No worries Jim, I have 3 weeks off over Christmas Vacation to hang out in a cold garage, I will have it back together, it was you I was worried about!

Hi,
I think this year my plans of joining this event will finally become concrete.
Looking forward to meeting you all.

Cheers.
Karl

I met RockDoc at SnT this year, he told me about this event, I think I might be in for the haul from California.

That said, I have, or can add, everything on the "Requirements" list to my BJ42 with the exception of a roll bar - my NZ truck didn't come with one stock, and since its my only truck (DD) I can't realistically pull the hardtop off to get a roll bar in this winter. I personally am not worried about it, but some clubs are stricter than others on what is a recommendation and whats a requirement... sooooo, you guys going to send me back to california if I show up without a bar?

If you've got a hard top, you are good to go.

Don't forget heat, do you Cali boys have that kind of thing hooked up in your trucks?

Craig.

Oooh, the snow's finally here. Part of me is hoping for a nice mild winter, part of me cant wait for the -30.

I know the cold will really hit when I have to go out and work on the truck, so I'm holding off. If we can be productive over the Christmas break, both Mano002's "renovated" 40 and Suess [aka frigid smurf] will be making an appearance.

Has anyone been out recently to see how the ice on the falls is doing?

I take it back. -25 sucks.

Made a trip down to MEC to pick up some RS essentials - down vest, good mitts, and a good warm sleeping bag liner. If the snow is right I fully intend to camp at the falls in an igloo.

Finally some decent snow in Edmonton :) I'd assume there's a fair bit more out at the Ghost?
