I just got an email notification that theyre taking preorders for their aluminum front bumpers! Don’t forget to use the code IH8MUD20 for 20% off!

Do you have a shop lined up yet? I see you are in SD. I'm about an hour north of LA. But don't really have a good shop in my area that I know of.
Just the local 4 wheel parts

This bumper always looks like it sits really high to me like it would cause more damage in a front collision

That's a risk of any no-cut zero-clearance bumper. If you watch the video of the ARB in action during a crash you can see how it rotates. Any no-cut will likely damage the grill, headlights, etc in a moderate collision.

Wait… so is this bumper no-good?

That’s your call, but the side view of this bumper on the website freaks me out. Looks like it sits above the headlight housing slightly. Basically a giant damage multiplier.

Your call. I have a no-cut zero-clearance bumper from Trail Tailor and I'm perfectly happy with it. If I hit someone at 30mph I'm probably replacing more than if I had an ARB though.

Not sure the weight but it's aluminum so likely pretty light. I can't see the back side of the bumper but I doubt there's steel tube reinforcement (like my Trail Tailor) in the wings and that combined with aluminum means a decent hit it likely to bend it, which might be more damaging to headlights than mine, and either way I suspect it won't hold up as well to hard trail abuse like Slee, ARB, TJM, etc. But it's also a lot cheaper (especially with 20% off) so it might be great for you or others. Trade-offs.

something to think about...
if the winch cradle is ALL Aluminium.. the bolts securing the winch and to the frame can and do wallow out with shock loading (i.e. bouncing..) which does happen under some conditions.
This has been seen many times on various manufactures bumpers, so it's not a dig at this company at all, but rather IF it is constructed entirely of aluminum.

No idea how thick the aluminum is or what actual allow it is so can only assume it is probably the same unless it is very beefy at those locations.

This is why Dissent builds the main structure of their primarily Aluminum bumper out of steel...

Just food for thought.... Feel free to ask any I4WDTA instructor their thoughts on all aluminum bumpers as well..

Bumper movement and clearance...

Given how much the bumper/frame moves in relation to the body on washboard roads at moderate speeds I would alway choose a bumper that allows for enough adjustable clearance between the body and the bumper.. My CBI bumpers are a "Cut" style bumper secured by 12 bolts to the frame and it still moves a lot, for instance, enough so that I recut the super to open the clearance up after Initially installed it.

Yeah. I’m thinking the benefits outweigh the cost. I don’t go too crazy off-road (although my front bumper is pretty banged up lol), so at the cost (discount plus free shipping), I think I’ll go for it.

Has anyone reviewed their experience with the Rival bumper. Some good info here that's got me thinking, but still interested in this.

I have now had the bumper for 3mo. So far so good. I had it installed at ToyCrawlers in Broomfield. They did a great job. Overall very happy with it. The aesthetic is great and the truck feels lighter than the piece of **** Viper Bumper I bought it with. My only gripe was the rubber seal that sits on the top edge. That is crap. It does not fit well and does not want to stay on. I used some black liquid silicone to tack down the corners. The seal that came with my bumper was warped and the company would not replace it. I am working on a better solution for the gap between the bumper and the grill. For half the price of the Slee bumper it is very good.

Thanks, very helpful. Does the winch cradle attach to the frame or the bumper?

Just ordered one today...total cost was well, too cheap to pass up. They've discontinued the offerings for the 200
Saw your post and ordered one too! Hope I actually get it. :)

When it says delivery on palette, I'm unclear on exactly how that's going to work. Cananyone that's purchased one chime in with what to expect re: delivery? Thanks!

If it’s on a pallet, it’ll be a forklift delivery. I’ve had some pallet deliveries where they’ll slide it into my garage, but if you have stairs they’re gonna leave it curbside for you to handle
