Saw your post and ordered one too! Hope I actually get it. :)

When it says delivery on palette, I'm unclear on exactly how that's going to work. Cananyone that's purchased one chime in with what to expect re: delivery? Thanks!
No clue, I’m picking mine up as it’s on my way home from work

If it’s on a pallet, it’ll be a forklift delivery. I’ve had some pallet deliveries where they’ll slide it into my garage, but if you have stairs they’re gonna leave it curbside for you to handle

And it won't be UPS/Fedex. It will be someone like T-Force or equivalent.

When i had my sliders delivered, they left them on the curb. I was there to receive them, so depalletized there and moved inside.

Thanks, yeah I'm ok with the pallet being left at my driveway, I just don't have a forklift if they expect me to get it off the truck. I'm also fine if it gets delivered to a depot and I have to pick it up. Just wasn't sure what to expect.

Here’s how mine looks… ARB drawers come in handy in situations like this, nice flat surface to slide things in on

Mine was rolled up the driveway with a pallet jack. I put the weights in my install thread but I think it was 250 lb or so with pallet.

The winch plate and sub frame is steel. The bumper shell and new fender liners are aluminium.

Too bad they’re discontinued now, it was a solid option in a market strewn with overpriced and overbuilt bumpers.

I made a video after unwrapping. Some minor damage to powdercoat I’ll need to touch up, but seems only superficial, haven’t looked at it in the daylight.

FWIW I paid $1200 with tax for this.

Love that color!

Has anyone painted over a powder coated bumper? I kinda like some of the other bumper makers that offer paint matching. Wondering how much it would cost for a body shop to do it.

I think you'd much rather have it sandblasted and then re-powder coated a different color. Not sure whatever you're painting with would stick to powdercoat.

You can but it’s largely about the prep to get the new paint to stick, and if the PC starts to flake it’ll still flake apart. That said I’ve used POR15 and it doesn’t stick well to PC, but I’ve also recently used some rust reformer rattle can which is oil based and that seems to be adhering well. I used a top coat over that. My PC was rusting in some spots it’s cracked and peeled and this seems to help but ask me again in a year or two if it’s still holding up…

Agree, any paint projects are only as good as the prep work. Well, once the bumper arrives next Weds, I'll shop it around a couple of body shops and see what sort of estimates I get. Not a big deal, it's more just I like the all white truck look.

Likely you’ll need to have it sandblasted, zinc-rich primed, and re-coated. I got a couple quotes from some shops by me and was $425 for the effort.

Yeah, I agree with the prep needed. Were the quotes from a powder coating shop, or a body shop using paint? I find powder coat chips off just as much as paint, at least my limited experience with roof racks and bumpers that are powder coated.

If you want it to look nice, the only way is to get the powdercoat stripped then have a body shop paint and clear coat to match. The texture won't look right without getting the bumper media blasted, and chips will appear more easily.

On a previous 200 I owned, this is what the Rhino bumper looked like before and after the media blasting and paint. Full thread is here if you are interested in reading more about the process.
