Hey everyone! Wanted to come to the Brain Trust with a question. I got my 68 registered, insured, and ready to hit the road. I need to get it from Arizona to my home in Utah, looking forward to the adventure with my son, doing some exploring along the way. Before departure, I have a few more things to do, and on the list is the seat. It is definitely showing all of its almost 60 years, has anyone ever reupholstered seats? No idea on how to even start.

There are vendor's that sell the cover's and foam plus tools and hog rings. You could also do it yourself using your old stuff as a pattern. Plenty of vids on youtube doing seats. Just throw a thick blanket over the seats, bungie cord it in and go. I like those cheap tapestry's as the seat blanket.

I recovered the stock seats on my ‘72 using aftermarket covers that came with the vehicle and new foam I purchased at local upholstery shops. I even bought some from Joann’s. Very happy with the end result. Just allow a lot of time and it’s all quite easy.

Recently did this to my 1970. Went with an upholstery shop as opposed to premade covers from one of the cruiser sites. I took my time and did the frames too.
Here's the thread.

Friggin hot time in the southwest right now.... have a safe trip!
Not sure where you're at in Utah, but I'm in Utah County and Kirkham's upholstery in AF is probably the route I'm going. Talked to a few other guys in the area and they've been really happy with them. EDIT: sorry, looks like I hit reply to Kringle. Meant for Etan02.
