Restoring early running boards (1 Viewer)

Quick question here - did you use any kind of adhesive underneath the rubber padding, or just used the screws to secure it? I know it's an older thread but i'm hoping someone is still paying attention.

No adhesive. Just used the screws.

I installed mine without adhesive but after 5 years they vinyl began to bulge. I went back and used contact cement on mine. Just the stuff you find at Home Despot.
