I am in the process finishing a few small things on my cruiser (mainly a rear brake line and a few small things) but I will post it for sale now since I have very little time to sell it here in PA before I move. I have a 1976 FJ40, matching number on frame and original engine. I am just finishing the restoration process. I will try to be as detail as I can and answer as many questions that people have to the best of my ability. Everything that is explained as "new" really means NEW.... as of 0 miles put on the vehicle since it was installed.

Bumper to bumper description:

Frame/ wheels/ Brakes:
Brand new OEM front bumper with stainless steel bolts. Frame was cleaned up, Soda blasted and painted. All body mounts are brand new with the exceptions of the ones in the cowl (previous owner purchased them and one was missing, I do have one of them but not installed; kind of dumb to have a new one in one side and an old one in the other). I installed 4 new shocks, ALL new u-bolts ALL New center pins, ALL New suspension bushings, ALL new bump stops, All new brake lines (finishing the rear ones soon). All 4 turn signals (including tail lights) are new. ALL new lug nuts. Tires are in very good condition.

Mechanical:
Engine runs strong, It has a new ignition coil, new set of points, new condenser, newer spark plugs, a New battery (purchased last week), New positive battery connector. Antifreeze was drained and replaced a few weeks a go. The carburetor was rebuild completely a few months a go. The manual steering box was pulled out and all the seals were replaced. My oil pressure is not reading (only gauge not reading), I will be taking a look at it and I am hoping to fix it soon. I also put new distributor cables. New Oil/ filter. The heater was rebuilt and both (front and back) work. All turn signals, and windshield wipers work. It has a brand new windshield washer bottle, motor and hoses. There are no Oil leaks. New 2F decal on engine ;)

BODY:
Complete recent pain job. Freeborn red color.

NEW metal parts include:
Both font fenders, front floor, rear floor, both complete quarter panels, both complete wheel wellls, rear seal, rear seal cover, windshield roof cap.
OLD body parts:
ALL (I really mean all) original body parts were completely stripped down to the bare metal, any rust found was removed and new metal was fabricated and welded in place. The front doors had the bottom 3 in cut out and a purchased replacement piece was welded in place. Engine compartment was stripped down and painted as well.

The vehicle was sprayed with epoxy primer sealer and then painted with single stage paint.

All windows are original glass. The hardtop also has new weather striping in the following areas: Windshield cap, hardtop sides to roof and quarter panel to hardtop sides.

The vehicle has all new OEM emblems. Rear emblems have one used and one new gasket.

Windshield motor cover has a new gasket.

Doors:
FRONT: New window channels, New panels, New outside door handles, New inside door handles, NEW door (key) locks, NEW mirrors/ Mirror gaskets, all new weather striping as mentioned above. All new pins.
REAR: New outside handle, New weather striping, New lock (key).

Hood:
ALL new latches (hood and windshield frame), New hood rest pads, New windshield rest pads. The hood hinges also have new gaskets (all 4).

INTERIOR:
New locking hubs decal, instrument gauge was stripped and painted along with ashtray and glove compartment door. All knobs were completely removed before paint. It has a new cigarette lighter power source. All the fuses were replaced. It has all new clutch, brake and gas pedal pads. New weather striping on transmission hump. 4wd shifter boot was replaced with new one. It has a new transmission shifter knob. The seats were completely stripped down, metal parts were painted and new covers were purchased and installed. The rear seats remain original and are in excellent condition. All the "metallic" colored parts in the interior were repainted. The headliner was replaced with a new one. Sun visors are both new. The dash pad was re-covered with a new cover. Roll cage was also primed and repainted.

I have been working in the emergency services for years and I know how important seats belts are, specially 3 point seat belts therefore I installed two brand new 3 point seat belts in the front and two brand new lap belts in the back. I will probably never see that money back but if it saves your life at some point that all it matters.

Basically every single bolt that I pulled out was replaced with brand new bolts (and most of them are stainless steel), I spent close to 350+ dollars just on bolts!!!!!

Many of you are probably wondering why I am getting rid of the cruiser after doing all this work.... well the reason for that is because we are moving south, I have two kids and I am planning on going back to college after we move so in other words I need money but I am not desperate enough to let it go for a low offer.

Just a few things on the sale. This is a cash sale. Unfortunately in today's world we have too many people willing to fake checks and even "certified checks". I will not sell the vehicle to someone over the Internet and then put it on a car carrier to ship it to you. This is an important purchase for you and if this is the dream cruiser that you have been looking for years the least thing that you can do is come look at it. I want you to come look at it and I will be flexible to make that happen. I will use a well known notary for the sale, they will giv8e you temporary plates if you are from out of state and they take care of everything, I feel this is a very safe way to do this. If you want to check them out here is their website. http://brimmers.com/ This may seem like some "strict" "rules" to some, however I feel like this a benefit to all parties involved. I cannot tell you how many times I have heard MUD members stories that they bought a vehicle over the internet and it wasn’t what they thought when it arrived at their house on a car carrier. I know what it means to own and work on an FJ40, I honestly want mine to go to someone that really appreciates the work that has been done to it. Because I don't have much time I will sell to whoever gets here first with the most cash but would rather deal with personal friends and mud members first.

SALE PRICE IS 27,500.00, I am open to reasonable offers. Vehicle is located in Lancaster, PA.
I will also be OPEN TO TRADES for a 4 door (CREW CAB) 4x4 pick up truck of equal value since I can easily sell my current vehicle and get rid of my payment which would ultimately allow me to go to school.

To see pictures of the restoration please visit my blog page on facebook at www.facebook.com/eastcoastcruisers. I have more pictures upon request. Also if you have pictures of your restoration process and you want me to share them on my page I will be more than happy to share them. I love to see other restorations take shape so send me pics and I will post them.

I am currently at work on a long shift, I will add more pictures tomorrow of the interior and undercarriage.

I would sell the other car. Fj40's are reliable and it will go up in value. You will have no payment and can go to school.

Nice Fj40. I wish you the best, follow your dreams.

That's a beauty and rare to see in this area!
