Wouldn't that be higher with higher ambient air temps? The exhaust gas temps are lower with 28 degree F intake air than with 115 degree F ambient air.

In this case, not significant.

Has anyone ever thought about sticking the EGR temp sensor in the end of the EGR up pipe after removal of the EGR? It would read a temp but I guess with the EGR removed it would trip the CEL for low or no flow.

Can try whatever, with the sensor replaced by a 4.7K ohm resister, every time the ECU looks, it sees the perfect reading, so never codes. This works, even with the EGR system disabled.

Exactly what problem are you trying to solve?

Major brain fart. Cruising Amazon on the phone with a baby screaming at you =/= good shopping decisions.

I second that motion! Or, just wait til they’re grown up and moved out like I did.

Why not fix the problem rather a bandaid?

I probably will truly fix it at some point, but right now it's not necessary IMO. From my troubleshooting, the EGR system works, but the temp sensor is shot. Temp sensors are like $200 if I remember correctly. Resistor's are $6 for 10. I mainly want the damn CEL to go away so I can see if there's another CEL a/k/a a real issue. The only downside to the resistor is if the EGR does stop functioning I won't know. But like I said, I do plan on doing it eventually.

Resistor mod is inexpensive and seems to last forever. Why would you care if the EGR actually is working? Many block them off anyway.

"Bandaids are a real problem on a sandy beach!' Irwin Fletcher aka "Fletch"

OK so the movie quote was actually; "Bandaids become a problem on sunny beaches."

The OBD systems are capable of logging more than one error code at at time.

Sure, but what are you going to do if it's always on; Check for codes once a day? Once a week? ...
