Hey guys and gals, looking to have some sliders made. The exhaust on the drivers side makes it a tad bit of a challenge to weld the sliders in on that side. Anyone have any real sliders (ones that can hold the weight of the truck, not just steps) that wouldnt mind sharing a pic or three. Thanks!

Here is how I did it. It's not 100%. I'm going to have the welds redone and will add some "ramps" on the front and back of the hoop. Two reasons, it will help prevent hang ups, and it's the weakest section; bout 1/2in of flex when I jack it up. But it clears well. The only issue I foresee is if I ever need to replace the mid-pipe it will likely need to be cut. That said, I replaced the mid-pipe about a year ago so I dont suspect needing to do that for awhile.

It's hard to get them right as they have to cantilever a long way off the chassis & work around the exhaust. Here's mine version 1.2 with an extra mid mount added as just 2 mounts weren't enough.

The front mounts to a drilled & tapped plate welded into the body mount:

Mid mounts to the transmission x-member, rear to a plate welded on the chassis.

One day I might add another panel(s) underneath the main horizontal bar to reduce the chance of hanging up on the stays but is hasn't been a problem so far.

I've got a few more detail photos in my thread, page 4. I would recommend at least 3 points of contact with the frame on your troopie, or anyone with a 77. Ideally I think 4 is best. But it's tough with the front stays because the frame angles up and inboard near the front wheels. Gusseted stays are your best bet.

Holy hell the world is small. What's up Nic haha!

there is absolutely zero flex or give when I stand my 240lb ass anywhere on the slider on my truck.
I think its all about the thickness of the material that is used.
Jason @Cruisin Cruisin Offroad made a solid product. Stand up guy and I am going to be buying a set from him for my next truck.

Love the @Cruisin' armor that is on my 74. He made me an awesome set of sliders, rear bumper with swing arms integrated into the rear doors (i.e. no latch, handles, etc!), and a custom front bumper to use the OEM PTO.

Not much help as my exhaust runs down in between the rails,

Routing inbetween the frame rails, was that a factory thing on your truck or did you move the exhaust to inside the rails?
