Before buttoning things back up, lube the track with silicon oil (I used the same stuff I use on my garage door tracks) and inspect the remainder of the interior of the door for water damage, etc.

I need to do this in my 80 ... if you don't mind .. how much was all 4 guides .?
I paid $225, including shipping (I'm in the US), for all four guides. I bought them from Mud member Akella.
I haven't done them yet as it's the rears that really needed it. However, I may tinker with the front passenger window next week. If I do, I'll take pictures and post up any differences.
