I bought this bumper, not to hit things, but to use as a pull platform. I figured if I was going to put 8000+ pounds of pressure on less than a square foot of surface, 3/8 was better than 3/16.
Yea, but if you're pulling that much, the surface where the bumper attaches to the frame is smaller than the surface where the winch attaches to the bumper. If you can do it there, you'd better be able to do it there too.
I think the cruiser frame an the 3/16" bumper will be strong enough for 8000 lbs, the extra thick 3/8" bumper would allow you go to from 8000 up to 20000 lbs which is not necessary.
