I'm looking for a front set that fit FJ-40s from 9/72-12/78.

All the vendors claim theirs are the best, but obviously that can't be the case.

A number of years ago there was a forum member named Atlas 1X (or some variation thereof) and I think his were impressive, but something happened to him, or his business, and his reputation went from top notch to bottom of the barrel.

So, at the present time who makes the best, and anyone who has bought a set please chime in with your thoughts, reviews, comments, etc.

Thanks!

I have used three of the major types.

SOR
CCOT
Cruiser Corps

CCOT is my choice for that range of years (73 - 78)

The black covers have a nice sheen, are built stronger and have more flex / stretch for mounting.

Next up would be Cruiser Corps then SOR. They are all very nice so don't get me wrong. But CCOT is a step up from the others.

I like SOR for the early coral style covers.

if you do choose CCOT, be sure to check the instructions. They are important to follow, and they don't include them in the box every-time.

Thank you for the reviews. That is EXACTLY what I was looking for!

Anyone else have thoughts?

I agree with the greek on the early coral covers. Coral is only offered by Cruiser Corps and SOR. I got samples from each, the vinyl from CC was really good stuff, but the color and grain weren't correct. SOR's coral is much closer to stock. If I were doing something other than coral, I'd look elsewhere than SOR. But for coral...

My covers from SOR arrived yesterday.

I only have experience with the cruiser corps covers but am very happy with their product. Straightforward installation and look great. Get the hog ring pliers

Try to get Racer to sell Oem style vinyl. Who's with me?

I wish "somebody..... anybody" would sell the correct grey elephant skin vinyl for my '79. I have postponed repairing my driver's seat for years while waiting for the correct color and grain.

How about the cushions?

I have used SOR's '78 and '80-era seat covers, as well as the covers for a '65. All fit well, were strong, and well tailored. I'm not an SOR flag-waver, but their seat covers are a high quality product.

How about the cushions?

I have purchased cushions from SOR only. There early seat cushions are great and comfy. I have only purchased the 73-78 lower cushions (cheaper version) which was satisfactory. They have a high dollar version but I haven't tried that one.

I don't think the other dealers sell cushions?

Looking to purchase covers for my jump seats.

Can’t decide between CCOT or CC

Advice is appreciated.
Thanks

I just installed the Cruiser Corps covers (bucket seats but ordered them in Coral). I'm more than happy with the quality. I can't compare them with CCOT because I have no experience with those. I had an upholstery buddy install the seat covers, and he liked the quality.

I bought the SOR ones, started unraveling the first week they where installed, made contact with them and they wanted me to send it back so they could fix it.

what did you do for your front side door panels?

I just spoke with Cruiser Corps and they can dye the door cards to match the seats for $50
Anyone have a photo of the coral color seats from Cruiser Corps on Freeborn Red? Would love to see how that comes out.
