I'm seeing a wide range of pricing for replacement radiators out there $125 to $900.

I'm not cheap, but I am frugal. Parts Geek has Denso for approx $375, which is about the median price of ten options out there.

Advise and opinion welcome on what to reach for and what to stay clear of.

TIA

IME buy Toyota radiator, few years ago I went thru 2 Denso's in 6 months. Previously have had good experience with Denso's. Not sure about other Pacific rim brands. Toyota comes with foam surround to seal rad support, which helps directing air where you want it.

What year and engine?

If you are buying in the U.S. you can get an OEM one for around $400 by ordering online from a local dealer, you just have to pick the right one, each dealer gives different markups for the parts. My local dealer wants $409 for an OEM radiator and I can pick it up at their location for free, so no shipping.

I've seen the koyos and densos go for several years but the factory ones are defiantly better.

Thanks all, I went OEM for $412 shipped.

And, FYI, this is for my FZJ80 in Costa Rica, where the dealer (Purdy Motors) wants $1,600.....

You better rebox it for shipment down there.

Every Toyota radiator I have received has had the box poked, mangled, or smashed, including when I picked it up from the dealership.

I love the Toyota radiator, but the packaging leaves something to be desired. This is why many dealerships say they are unavailable or they cannot ship them. High shipping damage risk.

Thanks, agreed. Toyota seems to use the lowest grade cardboard in the industry. I've been bring truck parts/gear to CR for over 15 years and have it down to a science. I use two big 20"x32"x10" Pelican cases for everything. The hardest part these days is getting them thru CR customs without getting whacked with tariff. My last trip down I brought (5) 16" wheels and made it thru financially scot free, I fear my luck will run out soon.

What dealership did you get your Rad from? I have been trying to find one for my 97 FZJ80 for under 500. The prices vary from the 300 range up to 700. Thanks

You can find 16400-66040 for around $350 shipped. It's for a 93-94, but also fits 95-97. I recently ordered one from Serra Toyota.
