I asked a long time ago about aftermarket hoods for my 2000 LC and did not really get a definitive answer.

So after over a year of looking at my peeling clear coat,Hail damage, and paint damage I did trying to fix the clear. I found a new aftermarket hood at autopartswarehouse.com for just under 300 bucks shipped. Also found a 15%off coupon loyal15 so the total was $253 bucks.I dont think I could fix all the hail damage myself for less if I include buying bondo tools and my time.

I hope its one of those its worth more than you paid items ;) lol.

Well got a shipping notice. I guess we will find out by the 7th. How can they sell a hood and ship it for 250 bucks. Shipping weight is 70lbs.

Nice! Like to see in the LX470, next hopefully. Let us know how it works out. Blending paint will be interesting. I'd clean with no wax soap (dish soap), clay, IronX & DA buff with cutting, polish & wax compounds. This will give painter best color to shoot for while matching & blending.

Depending on the quality of the primer it may stay the flat black its supposed to be shipped with ,

no more hood glare. I doubt many will notice it on the emerald green LC :)

Flat black isn't a bad idea, but I'd still put a coat of clear on it.

The primer will fade if you don't wrap it or paint it.

The bigger issue of leaving it in primer, is that it doesn't protect the metal from moisture (rust), without a coat of something (clear or color) over the top of it.
