i searched a bit but couldn't find the answer..

i have a set of OEM fj40/45 foglights and 1 of them recently burnt out.. i remember reading somewhere out here that replacement bulbs for these are hard to find..

does anybody know a good replacement for the amber OEM foglight bulb??

What are the chances if Toyota still sells the fog lights themselves that they would also carry the bulbs that go in them?

If you have the PN handy I can check it for you here, but I imagine the result would be the same in the US as well.

Good luck!

i checked with my guy here at toyota and those p#'s come up as no good.. mot lemme know if u have any luck.. and anyone else who may know the answer please chime in.. tanx.

Johnny,

I'll try calling Toyota parts in a jiffy, but not 100% sure if they'll be open (Local Toyota dealer was closed today).

HANG ON!!

thanx guys for the help.. MOT i would take a small handfull of the bulbs just to have some on hand for the future.. but i'm still hoping to find a local/semi-local place to get these.. i don't want to have to spend an arm and a leg on shipping for a little bulb if i can get it somewhere in the states..

MOT.. that being said.. can u get them? and how much would 4 of them cost shipped to USA?

JohnnyC.. i will post a pic of the bulb as soon as i take it out of the assembly.. right now it's still on the truck.

MOT you should post up in the 25 section...i am pretty sure they are in demand there :)
You've probably seen it, but I did that after you posted there. :)

DO find out if you can get it locally.

But if you can't, I would be able to do it for $15/bulb, plus shipping.

Not sure how they will come from Toyota, but I probably won't feel safe unless I put them in a plastic/cardboard box for the journey.

And shipping might not be as horrible as one might assume from Japan:

-Slow air shipping (3-4 weeks): $7.50 for 1 lbs (I doubt it'll weigh that much though)

-Regular air shipping (1-2 weeks): $12 also for 1 lbs.

Again, I hope you can get it locally whether from Toyota, Napa, Pep Boys, etc... as it would be cheaper, but let me know if you can't!

Just ordered a couple to see what they might look like today.

The specs sounded the same though (35w).

I should have them by the end of tomorrow and will snap/post pics so you can all see what we're dealing with!

Any word if you can get one locally yet???

I'd feel like a fool if I charge you an arm and a leg and find out that you can get them for a buck, minus shipping. :hillbilly:

thanks MOT.. i haven't had time to source them locally.. but i do remember hearing that it's a hard bulb to find..

:)and MOT.. you're NOBODYs fool .. u da MAN..

I've just got back from Toyota picking up the bulbs.

I'll unpack one (They came in a box), snap some pics and will post.

Drum rolls, please! :hillbilly:

OK!

Here's the realtime play-by-play action of my unboxing of the bulb in question!

Pic 1: Comes in the box that we all like to see.

Pic 2: The PN label nicely covers the instruction of how (not?) to handle the bulb.

Pic 3: Opening the box!

Oh, the anticipation!!! :hillbilly:

Should I continue opening the box further or should I stop?

OK, I don't want you not being able to sleep because of the suspense, I'll continue...

Pic 1: The top flap is open!

Pic 2: The base of the bulb is starting to come into view.

Pic 3: Different angle.

I think this would be a good time/place for me to stop for a potty break!

Seriously, I gotta go!

I know I don't have to tell you this and just tell you the outcome (#1 or #2 :hillbilly:)) but we can all use a little humor in life, can't we?

Be right back... could be a little longer if it's #2 though! :flipoff2:
