OK, lucky for you the warm potato salad and chicken breasts that sat on the countertop for the last couple of days that I had for lunch have not gone through my system yet, so I'm back to serving you again! :hillbiilly:

Pic 1: OK, the glass part is starting to show...

Pic 2: I think the color of the glass that we've all been anticipating to see is beginning to be visible and it's...

BTW, the bulb is made by Stanley and not Koito.

I like Stanley too, though, he's a good guy! :hillbilly:

Beauty! :D

I was hoping you would feel that way!

That said, I would be very surprised if you couldn't get a similar bulb 12v/35w, might not be yellow but... in your neck of the woods.

If you can't, I'll be right here waiting for ya. :grinpimp: ;)

Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhh aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh :)

time for JohnnyC's usless info: :)

There is no Stanley at Stanley...the company was given the name by the founder Takaharu Kitano in 1920 when the company formed in Japan. Named after the explorer Sir Henry Morton Stanley because of his vision and courage. Aspects that Kitano thought admirable and wanted of his company.

Sorry I just can't resist usless historical facts LOL

MOT i REALLY hope you washed your hands before handling that bulb!!

really though.. i liked the presentation man.. i will contact you very soon most likely if i can't find it around..

I had done some looking around...the issue is the bulb 'head' shape as well as the base contact and foot contact point and color.

you can find some with two but not all four being what you want...then to find it in 12v 35w is the last issue.

I have found what i think would work would be the base and foot to be what you want ...but...not the head...and only in 12v25w.

the head is the biggest key ...because the bulb is placed head facing the lens in the oem fog light case.

most bulbs are side to the lens.

the intensity will be less in 2 ways...one the watts are less 25...and...the bulbs heren't shaped with the head like that its almost like haveing a magnifier built in to the bulb.

the bulbs that i found are around $9 ...i would say that the $15 for the correct thing is a great deal :)

BTW, you're a trivial nerd!! :D ;)

:grinpimp:MOT your neighbors must think you're a little nutz everytime you go to that sunny spot in front of your house taking a thousand pics of light bulbs and stuff.. BUT we love you here on mud!:)

i must agree with JohnnyC the price is right for such an obscure bulb..

MOT if you can get me 2 of them sometime i will gladly purchase.. THANx.

I've got two now with another two on the way.

Tomorrow I'll work on finding a suitable way of packing them and shipping so I can get you a shipping options/quotes.

Thanks for your compliments, guys! It really means a lot to me! :crybaby:

Sweet glad you found them. I was beginning to worry Landpimp was right.
It always makes me happy when a story has a happy ending to it. :D

John is usually right, but not this time I guess. :hillbilly:

Mot if you can get more I will take acouple of sets (4). Paypal?. I got couple sets of fog lights and mounting brackets but hate to use them if I can't get replacement bulbs. I know Toyota USA showed the mounting bracket as unavailable but someone did bring some in from Japan. Which makes me think Toyota still has them, just Toyota USA doesn't want to bother bring in a small low volune item.

Our Toyota dealers parts books only go back to 3/69. Is this the same in Japan?

John

John,

Yeah I picked up a pair of the said brackets maybe as recently as three months ago. So I think they're still obtainable here as well (I've still got a couple/few sets in stock, along with the pull switches).

My PayPal is: motoomi@yahoo.com if you want to shoot me the funds I'll order your bulbs!

On the parts books/catalogue I'm not sure how far it goes back. The EPC copy that I have only goes back to April, '69 (Publica). I know when I go to Toyota they have to dig out a CD-ROM if I ask them to dig up parts for something old, but cannot recall just how old!

Mot :)

I'm interested in pull switches for fog lights. I'll search the tread and try to figure out which ones you still have.

Figure shipping to Arizona. I see if I want the switches and I'll paypal you one time to get you started on your end:cheers:

John,

There's just one type of the pull switch that I have, which appears to match the OEM fit and finish fairly closely.

That comes with a bracket that looks like this and should be able to be used to let you mount it under the dash.

You've probably seen it, but the brackets look like this.

HTH's!

I just stuffed the bulbs (in the Toyota boxes) in a very small cardboard box that I found.

If I can find similar boxes I can ship a pair for:

$5 /slow air (3-4 weeks) or $8/regular air (2 weeks-ish) for both of them combined.
And I can send them a bit quicker by express air (1 week or less) for $14.

I'll probably have to throw in the bubble wrap thingy just to keep the bulbs shifting in the original box, but that should not add much/any to the weight/cost.

Let me know if how that sounds! ;)
